Days 2-4
My focus while staying at the AKL was to hit the AK and MGM as much as needed with Blizzard Beach thrown in. I figured we could focus on MK and Epcot when we moved to the CR.
Day 2
AK day had pop-tarts on the way to the bus, which was at the bus stop when we got there, and headed off to AK. I really wanted to try to get more into AK this trip and we did. The kids loved Kali, Dinorama, Primeval Whirl, and were dying to try Pizzafari after seeing it on Travel Channel. The kids deal at AK is probably the best deal on food youll find at Disney individual pizza, pop and chip, and a coupon for a drink and snack out of a cart in the park all for like $6.99. We got there just after opening and experienced very small lines. My wife and I tried Dinosaur separately kids chickened out and we enjoyed it. Back to the AKL by 2:30 for a swim, afternoon rain and headed to MGM for the evening with overcast skies. I was able to do a walk on at TOT at the end of the evening while every other person headed towards Fantasmic, there was only 3 of us in the elevator
Day 3
Blizzard Beach the kids favorite water park got there at opening and was able to do Teamboat springs 4 times in a row with no wait then hit the tobaggans and a few others before heading back to AKL. Ive found that the water parks on Monday at opening are the best times to go. Lunch at the Mara great Chicken Cesaer salad. Nap and back to MGM for the evening hoping to see Fantasmic show was slated to start at 9:00 we walked into the theater at 8:40 and were seated at the far left side in sweltering humidity. The show began at 9:05 and stopped at 9:06 technical difficulties, after sweating it out for another 20 minutes the show began again. Not bad but I would put it behind Illuminations and Wishes in my order of favorites. Back to the AKL at 10:40 with some very tired kids and adults.
Day 4
Sleep later and head over the Winterland/Summerland for some mini-golf, 36 holes of it to be precise, the kids love mini-golf and we enjoyed it again on another sweltering hot day. Back to the AKL for a swim and then AK in the late afternoon for the safari, festival of lion king, etc then went from AK to DTD to try and get some dinner, this was an adventure no direct bus from AK to DTD so the first bus to show at AK was EPCOT we went there, no direct bus there, so the kids wanted to monorail to the TTC, upon arriving at TTC we found no bus to DTD there either, had to take a bus to the WL and from WL to DTD. Quite the experience we laughed each time we got somewhere new. Ate at Wolfgang Pucks express ( which everyone enjoyed ) shopped briefly and caught the bus back to AKL once again tired.
