Red Tag Tickets

So when we get the email with the barcodes That’s all we need to enter universal. Going early our first am and I would have to find out we had to go to guest services first etc

Yes, you can go straight to the gate with that paper with the barcodes (or have it on your phone).

As if there aren't enough details and things to do at the last minute with travelling these days. You really need this on top of it all?

I remember how stressed I used to get being the family planner for ADR’s and fastpass and travel details.
Planning during all of this is just on an entirely new level.:scared:
It’s the Boss level.

Ya, they eventually sent us a separate email with the tickets.

Has anyone found the redtag website really slow to load tickets, sometimes not even loading it? I'm trying to price out different number of days/start days, and the website just won't load anymore.

Now after reading everyone's experiences, I'm wondering if it's even worth the hassle, or if I should order from undercover tourist.

We just had the most horrible experience with Redtag involving the same problem that others have had on this thread.

Cashed in all of our Airmiles for Universal Orlando tickets for my family. Received an email and PDF from Redtag 21 days before heading to Florida. Opened up the PDF and it said to present the tickets and barcode at the gate when we arrive....except that NO tickets or barcode were included in the PDF. I emailed Redtag repeatedly over several weeks and no one addressed the issue. The next agent would just email a week later and ask if our issue had been solved. NO, it hasn't! :( I tried calling but was on hold for 4+ hours each time and finally had to hang up.

Got to Universal and they would not let us enter the park because no tickets or barcodes were attached to the email or PDF. On top of that, the PDF letter from Redtag didn't even state I had purchased multiple tickets. I have now been fighting with Airmiles and Redtag for almost two months in an effort to get a refund of our Airmiles. This resulted in an extremely stressful situation for us before, during and after our trip and honestly ruined a large part of our trip. Beyond disappointed!

As much as I liked saving the money on the ticket I got, it was very frustrating to actual get in hand, and it sounds like Universal is worse. I'd advise anyone going to make sure and do it early and be prepared to follow up repeatedly.

ugh....now do I bite the bullet and use AM for tickets into the park...or just save the Am and use for hotels in Florida.

We leave in 23 days and we have decided to forge ahead and go on our trip.

We are only doing one day to each Universal and Hollywood Studios. I am using pc points for Disney gc for the Disney portion of our trip.

Guess I'll have to chat with dh and see how he wants to use our AM. We could just pay for the tickets Universal and use all our AM for hotels on our trip. Where there is a will, there is a way ::yes::

I would use the AM for the hotels, especially since a lot of them are refundable (so you get a refund if something happens last minute). For the tickets, you don't need Universal ones far in advance (from what I understand). Unlike on the Disney side where you'd want to be able to book the park.

I'm planning on using my Air Miles for Universal Tickets in March. How long does it take, once you've ordered them from Red Tag, to get them emailed to you? Just putting it off to the last minute, just in case...

Don't put it off. Although it doesn't take long, they have been messing up and not actually sending the tickets but just a confirmation number which is useless. That means you have to follow up which can take a while.

Well, after two months of fighting with RedTag/TravelBrands in regards to no barcodes or tickets being given to us (see my post above), TravelBrands is unwilling to do anything about it. They said because no RedTag agent ever contacted them about the problem, even though I contacted RedTag repeatedly about the problem, they cannot offer me any help. But as a gesture of good will, they offered us a $150 voucher for either a TravelBrand cruise or safari. They can go shove it! I'm taking this public.

Gosh...after hearing this, I will save the Am for hotels for the parts of our trip. I have used am for hotels before, and know that I won't have any problems. In theory, using the AM is great, but the headache and trouble, I think I will pass.

Hello, I thought I would add my experience here, as I just cashed in my miles for tickets. I cashed them in on January 28th, and had the email from Travel Brands the next day. I was not able to open the voucher with the barcodes from my phone, and was getting worried and thought i was going to have the same issues as mentioned above. This morning, I logged onto my computer and had no issue opening the email with barcodes attached. Just passing along my experience. Have a great day everyone!
