I'm a diehard red sox, patriot, bruin fan. If i HAD to pick, cubs...but only because they're in the same boat as us...not winning in forever i mean.

I just have to say, I have to disagree when people say this is 'our year' I don't think it is...I don't think we're ever going to have 'our year'....I've just gotten used to us losing every year. It sounds negative...but it is so true....at least we have Tom Brady and the Pats to redeem Boston sports!!!

Sorry...die hard New York girl! Born and raised a die hard Yankee fan! Just as you guys hate the Yankees we guys hate the Red Sox. But being as I've lived in Florida for a while I'd hafta say I like the Marlins and Devil Rays as well...I can stand the Cubs, but don't like the Braves. But I really don't like the Red Sox.

As for the Yankees, I don't really like Giambi that much, but Jeter is awesome, though he's not my favorite. I absolutely adore Jorge Posada and think he's the coolest guy on the team! I hate it when everyone likes the best player! Ergh!

yay!!! i was raised a yankee fan too; i would probably be kicked out by my dad if i wasn't a yankee fan!! i also despise the red sox (especially pedro martinez. urgh.) i love jeter (he may not be the greatest, but he is so hot!) and i also love jorge posada!! he's so awesome!! i had a pic of him in my siggie during the world series, but it was too big so it was taken out. urgh!!! i also like a.rod. he's really good.

Just so that you know TalkisCheap, the White Sox won it all in 1909 and haven't won since, so they have actually gone longer than the Red Sox w/o a World Series...

Tino used to be my favorite player also! When he moved to the Cardinals I was so upset! But now he's with the Devil Rays in his hometown of Tampa where I can see another one of my teams play with my first favorite player!

Personally I dislike Jeter, but....

I think he is good for the game of baseball.

Yes, he is ridiculously over-hyped relative to his actual ability. Over the last decade he has been an excellent singles hitting SS with horrible defense. By chance, he has been part of some highly memorable baseball moments (eg. the WS errant cut-off throw catch and flip to the plate to tag out the idiotically non-sliding Giambi).

But, he is a good looking guy playing in the biggest market and has done a great job of marketing himself and the sport. He has brought in a lot of new fans to the game.

Baseball has had a hard time keeping, much less expanding, its fan base over the last decade. Jeter has probably been responsible for helping generate interest in MLB and bring in new fans more than any other single player. That is a good thing for all of us who are fans of the game.

I think the Sox-Yankees rivalry is huge for baseball as well. I mean, they even moved the opening series to primetime to get a lot of people to watch it. Personally, my three favorites are the D'Backs, Tigers, and then the Red Sox.

The Yankees have so much talent that there is no way in the world they shouldn't win the Series. Torre has an immense amount of pressure to win, which he rightfully should have.
