I heard Clement is on the 60 day DL..is that true? And what about Wakefield?

I can't wait to hear about Varitek...I hope he's okay. And we have Trot on the DL too.

He certainly keeps the butts in the seats at the end of a game.

Snyder - great outing

Coco & Youk - Way to set the table!

Papi - LONG DRIVE that's OUTTA HERE!! Thanks for the thrills

Oh ye of so little faith!

OMGosh, I always say that to my husband.........LOL

...........although I was sorta the "ye" last night, I had been on the computer ignoring the game cause they were losing...shame on ME...but I saw the shot that saved the night!!

Yes, CLement is on the 60 day. Foulke had a rehab start scratched. I don't know if we'll see either of them back this year.

Tim Wakefield is on the 15 day DL.

Varitek gets an MRI today.

Trot is also on the 15 day DL.

haha, there's someone who wants to start a haters thread. get a life! :teeth:

i was studying in starbucks, but i went into a sports bar next door and caught the 9th inning!!

thanks for the updates. yeah i doubt we'll see foulke back. and now with clement on the 60 day DL, we'll see him next season probably..MABYE the postseason.

for all the boston area fans, how is the media up there reacting to the no trades made yesterday? the NY media is eating it up saying how the yankees have such an advantage now. But they say that every year. :rolleyes1

The Herald is saying it was a mistake, but they always take the negative voice no matter what. You could cure cancer and they would come out against you.

Most people seem to agree with it. We have some great young prospects. I would have hated to see them trade Lowell or Loretta. Or, worse, Lester.

TV and radio mentioned that Theo didn't make any trades saying the price was too high, but that was about it.

Honestly, I don't think we needed to make a trade. Sure, we've got some key injuries right now, but we've still managed to hold onto first place and there seem to be players ready and willing to step up and fill those spots caused by injury. Hopefully these latest won't be the ones to knock us out.

I'm just happy we didn't give up some young talent, as we seem to have done in the past. Being a long-time Pawsox follower, I've always hated watching us send the young prospects off for some temporary fill.

YEP!!! Word on the street was that some of these deals were looking for Lowell, Crisp, or Loretta AND some combination of Hansen/Lester/DelCarmen. Too MUCH!!!!! I think they wish they could have pulled something off, but it's OK that they didn't.

Ya gotta love the guy! BTW, it was Alex Cora who led off the rally with a single, not Coco. He's someone who seems to come through in the clutch a lot.

Big Papi is definately DA MAN!!!

Unfortunately, I was weak and went to sleep during the 7th inning...had a very early meeting today...at least that is the story I am going with :thumbsup2

Heard some rumors floating around today that Theo was making a HARD push for The Rocket but not sure how credible that one is.

I am curious to see if anyone knows who will be filling in for Trot? Wily Mo did a great job last night but will he be there for the rest of the season?

Back to Big Papi, his appeal is amazing. My DW, a die-hard Yankees fan  , loves him as well. Definately a great ambassador for the game!!

At first, I was a bit perplexed as to why we didn't go for another pitcher. But then I listened to what Theo said and definitely agree with him. He has done probably the best job of building the farm system. I'm sure Terry is pretty darn happy about Papelbon. :teeth:

Yesterday, the yankee fans around here were rubbing it in my face about Lidle ( :rotfl2: ) and Abreu. Yeah cuz they're both rising stars. :rolleyes1
