Went to USF today and noticed a lot of red-shirted seniors helping out in the park. They were all dressed in khaki shorts, red tee's, and each had a name badge. What is their purpose?

After 12 years of going this is the first time I saw them.

An employee told me they were used when the park is shorthanded which he said they were not. They were all very pleasant.

They are part time fill-in help. Typically they live in retirement communities, some a couple of counties away. Universal picks them up and returns them home. They are a great asset and a lot of fun to sit around and chat with.

Local schools are back in so they are help filling the void left from the local working age kids being back in school.

would a college student have a pretty easy time right now getting a job since so many HS students are returning and cannot work much except for weekends?

Depending on what you availablity is. If it's only evenings and weekends, then i would say it would be pretty tough, but if you are available during the day, you might have a chance. Come apply with us, its a great company to work for!!

Plus, they hand out a lot of free passes to these guys. My parents are retired in FL and know of folks who have a stack of the free passes. I think they can give them away but can't sell them.

I saw a few two weeks ago. One was helping in Jurassic River Adventure, one was helping crowds at the Wild West Show, and I saw one at the Make Up Show as well.

I think the T shirt says Universal Volunteer or something like that on it...

We talked to a few and they were very very sweet!

What if the opposite holds true...what if you're only available during the days? Say...when the kids are in school...8:30 or 9-3? ;)
