hi there new on here.
Staying at the Red Lion got a room with2 queens for 3 nights at a rate of 73.00 a night. So is this hotel worth the price? Are there better options for that rate Dec 9-12? Thank you

I've stayed there three times now and plan to stay there again next February. It isn't talked about much on the DISboards, but it's a nice hotel and it's right next to the Toy Story parking lot and you can utilize that if you want to as well.

Do you have any specific questions? I'd be more than happy to answer any that I can.

Thanks Lizzy

So what do you mean the toy story lot?
Is 73.00 a night a good rate?

We stayed there once and will never return due to the abysmal performance of the front desk staff. As well, it is at the outer limit of how far we are willing to walk, and using Toy Story lot wasn't ideal for us at the time. But really, the front desk staff was the worst I have ever encountered, and I spend over 30 nights a year in hotels.

You must have reserved it during the recent one day sale at hotels.com a few days ago. That price is probably the best you will see. They do sales like that about once every few months. As you may see now, the same room would be $111 per night if booked today. I have not stayed yet but have a few reservations coming up. Just based on reviews, seems walls are thin, and they really tack on a lot of fees (about $15 resort fee + $15 parking/night), and they also add extra cost for additional guests. But I doubt you can find a better hotel for the price on the main streets nearby. They are also one of the few hotels where pets are allowed. Hotels.com ratings seem to be a good gauge of quality and cleanliness of hotels.

I would be interested in hearing more details of the front staff poor performance. Making extreme general statements like that without an example doesn't really help.

I just stayed there recently and had no problems. Juse be aware of their $15 a night to park and $15 a night resort fee. Those add on $30 each night if you have a car. It also sucks that they don't include breakfast. I probably wouldn't choose to stay there again because of all their fees and no breakfast but I didn't have any problems there either.

Thank you for your input.
I booked it through travelocity my total was like 307. And it says it includes the 15 resort fee. So I think that's a good price.

Can someone tell me more about the toy story lot last time I was there we parked inside the Disney garage which is totally opposite of this hotel right?

I've never had a problem at the front desk, honestly.

The parking lot at Red Lion is gated, too, btw. We like that and that there never seems to be any random people mulling around or walking through it.

The Toy Story lot is at the intersection of Harbor and Convention Center Way. You can walk over to it and ride the buses without having to park there. I think I'm going to use the buses the next time we go to come back from the parks at the end of the day.
