Because of the SWS trip and the rave reviews (and photos) of the Red Cliffs Lodge, I will be heading that way on my own in a month and staying at RCL. We'll be in the area only 2 days, so am looking for advice from everyone on what their favorite activities in the area were, so we can best maximize our time.
I'll be with my parents who are in their 70s, so rafting/horseback riding/serious hiking is out, but we'd like to see both parks and maximize our time in the area. So basically, I'd love to hear the thoughts of folks who have been to the area of how we should spend our limited time there.
Oh yes, we will be child-less (taking advantage of travel on my own while my DD is on a week long school trip.
Can't wait to see the views from RCL!

First off, you are going to LOVE the Red Cliffs Lodge! Gorgeous setting, great rooms, just amazing. Our Guides called it "a little slice of heaven", and they weren't wrong! I'm going to be interested to hear about your trip, because I would really love to return there for an extended stay!

I'd call the Red Cliffs Lodge and see if they can hook you up with a local vendor (probably out of Moab) for a tour of Arches National Park. Some of the folks on the ABD do a tour like that on the ABD bus instead of the hike to Delicate Arch (with a local tour guide on board). While they don't get as close to the arches as the hikers do, I've heard you can see quite a few really lovely arches from the roads. Arches is amazing, and not to be missed!

Sounds like a fabulous trip!
