RED ALERT: How to gain 6lbs in 4 DAYS (with Pics)!!

Now, before I get flamed about having cake at breakfast, let me give you a little history. My DD is probably considered "spoiled" to others b/c they have told me so, but she is our miracle baby b/c I always went through my twenties being told that I would probably NEVER conceive so I always said I did not want any children. So when we found out we were pregnant, we were so happy and NERVOUS throughout the pregnancy (she even made us wait and came at 42wks). I never thought I could love another individual (beside DH), the way I love this little angel. My DH and I have always been the ones who were last to get married, have a baby, home, etc. in our group of college buddies. We were put together ya'll by a higher power. The good Lawd knew what we needed. Okay, off my soap box and on to the goodies. Yes, this was Madi's second 1st b-day party (other one at Children's Museum)!

The Madhatter came over and he stayed about 20 mins no lie. He asked if Madi was scared of loud noises and I said, "I am her momma right??" and he laughed and started yelling for the whole restaurant to be quiet and to sing happy birthday for Madi. She was so delighted!! I cried!! DH was smiling and just looking at me!

I have some tears in my eyes because I too have a miracle baby and I understand the spoiling. I do it too. Plus, you can have cake for breakfast on vacation. It's in the rule book! It's a beautiful cake. You have really good taste and i can't wait to see what else you guys eat! That madhatter is great. He had my DS laughing so hard.

Great Trip Report! I can't wait to read more.

We did several attractions at the MK and it decided to rain so of course DH wanted to use up a snack credit, but low and behold Ms. Madi decided to eat this snack.

We used a counter service at The Lunching Pad. We had a turkey leg, bag of Lay's chips, and a soda. Needless to say, our hands were so greasy that we did not get a picture, but Madi took a liking to ham-on-a-sticks...I mean turkey legs. :lmao:

Well after walking back to the castle, I decided it was time for a...

You guessed it. A dole whip. And what do you know? Ms. Madi loveddddd this too.
We ate the dole whip why Madi met some friends...

We did a few more attractions and then we headed back to the GF for some downtime. We had an ADR at 6:40 at Kona Kafe.

Hi Drewsmommybear!!

Thank you so much. I was hoping others would understand. I try not to look at it as spoiling b/c I do want her to be a respectful individual, but it's loving them and I can't see how I managed 31 years without her!! Yes, the madhatter is so funny. He hugged me and told me that I was a good mommy and that I was so blessed. He was actually whispering to me...he wasn't really in character when we had that moment but I cried!!!!!!!!!! I try to be the best mommy that I can. I was so nervous b/c I felt as if I didn't know what I was doing, but it is second nature!!!

Don't worry about spoiling her. Believe me, it's possible to raise a spoiled, respectful child. My son and my 4 nieces and nephews are living proof of this. (Of course my sister, BIL and I don't take any credit for the spoiling. We blame that on my parents:rotfl: )

Did you pick the colors for Madi's cake? My sister would LOVE it.

Please, again, do not flame me but this was our worst meal of the trip. My expectations were high and it just did not live up to all of the hype. :confused3 My DH is usually very laid back and he made the statement to me first that he did not like the food or the restaurant. I was feeling the same way, but I am very anal about my ADR's and I felt as if I felled him somehow. Yes, you already know I am sensitive. Madi was very fussy and the lady next to us kept looking but everytime we looked her way she would smile or pretend to be admiring Madi. Now, she did not get out of hand, but she was being normal and just wanting her mommy to hold her rather than sit in the highchair. Now, she was not crying but was whining for me so I ended up holding her and she fell asleep by the time we had our entres.
DH and me: Sticky wings/Crab cakes, Filet mignon (medium) w/ broccoli, Kona cone, mango smoothie
The wings tasted like the wings at O'hanas. The steak was fatty and it was just okay. I have had better steaks at Outback. :confused3 The crab cakes were just okay, too. I believe we were only in the restaurant for 20-30 mins. We felt RUSHED the whole time. We could not really look at the menu b/c the waitress said I will go ahead and tell you what most people order to help you out while reaching for our menus!!!!! We only got pictures of the Kona Cone and the waffle cone was stale!!! YUKKK...needless to say we did not finish them.
1stbdayandWDW453.jpg

another view...ummm...I guess the same view
1stbdayandWDW454.jpg

Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant on our trip this year. Sorry, we did not like it. But we do plan to return to O'hanas for the sides.

Hi Disneyjunkie,

I just love your name! Thank you so much for the encouraging words. My parent's spoil her so much. She is actually named after my DH's mother. She passed when he was 15. She looks a lot like her too. I know she would have spoiled her rotten. :grouphug:

Yes, I picked the colors for Madi's cake. My baby just started wearing other colors. Hehehehe

After our dinner, we took the monorail back to the MK to ride some more attractions. As we were heading out of the park down Main Street, I just had to have a snack. SHUT UP! Don't say it! Yeah, we had two chocolate chip cookies and one macadamia nut cookie. I have no words!!!
Just look...
1stbdayandWDW461.jpg

And look at my baby partaking in this sin with us...I mean me.
1stbdayandWDW462.jpg

The parade was going on and we actually sat beside a couple and their 20 year old daughter. We ate our cookies, drank a vanilla coke and talked with this couple. It was so nice and refreshing and I was getting soooo sad b/c I knew our trip was almost over.

That is officially the most beautiful birthday cake I've ever seen! How did you go about ordering that? I called to order a cake for my DD's 6th birthday last Feb, but I want one like that next time! That is spectacular!

Your DD is soooo very precious, how could you NOT spoil her? She's so dang cute princess:

And I can tell you for sure that I would have cried too, isn't that what the magic of Disney is all about? Special moments like that!

We slept in on this morning. We were really tired and drained so I decided to go to the Gasparilla Grill to take breakfast back to the room. I used our remaining counter and snack credits here. I bought 2 bacon, egg, and croissant sandwiches, cheese danish, juice, and frosted flakes for Madi.
OMG can you say delish???
1stbdayandWDW465.jpg

I actually ate the cheese danish on our way home while silently crying to myself.
1stbdayandWDW464.jpg

Overall, we had a lovely stay. I actually love the dining plan and we plan to use it on our trips this year. I want to thank you for reading my food porn, I mean report. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. I am forever on the DIS boards. This is my relief from the real world and it makes me happy to read about the happiest place on earth. Happy New Year!!!

Hi Pipergirlinwonderland!

Thank you so much!!! I actually got the phone number from page 1 of the birthday cake thread here on DIS. I called GF Private Dining and spoke to Linda Sglata. She assisted me through the whole process and I ordered the cake back in July. We kept in constant communication up until our arrival. Yes, I never cry so much until I am at Disney! I feel it coming on now!! STOPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! Hehehe. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Dawn,

I know where Jefferson is gurllll! It is right outside of Barrow County. Small world, hunh??? :cutie: Yeah, TECH!! Hopefully we will have a better FB season this year since we have a new coach!!!! What better way to spend your Saturday evening than sitting in the stands at the Bobby Dodd field, with a gasy stomach after the Varsity, and watching those Jackets. So now you know how we spend our Saturdays in the fall...at the football games!!

I almost spit out my water. You remembered BBD...90's baby gurlll! Hehehe

Thank you so much for the compliment about my DD. She get it from her mama. :rotfl2:

Yeah, the cake was sooo pretty! I may give Kona a try for breakfast but maybe it was an off night. I can't really put my finger on it. However, I always try to never say never! Thank you so much for stopping by. I will have to PM you later.

Cas,

First of all, you crack me up woman:rotfl: I love eating my way thru Disney too and if you ask me, 6 lbs in 4 days is a MOST EXCELLENT accomplishment.:cheer2: I hope to be able to do the same for the wedding/honeymoon trip. I will let you know the restaurants we have planned and how yummy it sounds. The Earl of Sandwich is one of my favorite places to eat. I usually have to eat their at least 2 times a trip to get all the sandwiches I like and the salad too. My fiancee has never been to Disney :scared: can you believe it? His first trip will be the wedding and I am using him as an excuse to eat more so he can "try" everything. ( good thinking huh? :lmao:

Sweets is deffinately my thing too. You know how I feel about Maddy's cake, it is deff gonna be my rehearsal dinner cake at O'Hanas. Picture it in Brown/White/Turquoise. Sound good?

Loved the report and am super glad I found this site and my new Disney buddy :flower3:

I thought I was the only one that caught the BBD reference! I forgot to comment about it though. We must love some "Poison" in Georgia lol. I have some friends that live in Jefferson! I've only been there to go shopping at a place called Great Deals or something like that (we were on the way to Commerce). BTW... I'm a DAWG HATER too. Roll Tide!

Great report, thanks for sharing!

Hope you go back soon and post another review because you're my kind of WDW-goer. ;) I need to learn some planning tips from you, seriously! Sugar, sugar, sugar, whoo-hoo! :yay: I like sweets on vacation, in case you can't tell! :rotfl:

Also, I can totally understand that about spoiling your little girl. Seems totally understandable to me. And besides, vacation = as much yummy food as you can handle. Or so I tell myself anyway... ;)
