Probably a little late in the game, but we’re hoping for a week stay off-site in a new or recently updated hotel this winter. We’d prefer a 1 BR, with kitchen (fridge, microwave at least), washer/dryer. A nice view (pool, garden?) would be an added bonus. Cleanliness is an absolute necessity. Not interested in a time share condo situation. So, is there such a place?

TIA for any recommendations or advice. Be kind - I know it’s late to be trying to plan this. Blame it on the confusing COVID news - decided to just roll the dice, despite all the gloom & doom. Winter is long in the Midwest!

You might find a newer hotel with a kitchen or modified kitchen (stovetop but no oven) but to get a washer and dryer I think that will be mostly the "condo" situations or houses. You might have to go with no washer/dryer or consider condo types.

A few hotels have shared washer/dryer that might not be too bad. We once spent 9 days at an Embassy Suites and the laundry was on our floor and for that long we did use it.

What are your top priorities? And is your main focus Disney World for location?

I'm not sure I understand what you are looking for. Are you avoiding timeshares because you want room service availability? Or is it because some of them are only available in 7 night increments?

If you are OK with a timeshare at a nightly cash rate, Hilton Grand Vacations Parc Soleil has one bedroom availability. The washer/dryer is in the building, and the unit has a full kitchen.

There are a few other Hilton Grand Vacations and Marriott resorts that are very similar.

We enjoy Hilton Grand Vacations at Seaworld 1 bedrooms. In-unit washer and dryer, full kitchen, and a screened in patio. Like Parc Soleil, it is a timeshare but also has cash rates.

Thanks for your suggestions and advice. Top priority would be close proximity to WDW. We’ve not enjoyed condos mainly due to the feeling that we’re in someone else’s home with their decorating, their special closets/locker, etc. I know it may sound weird, but that’s our deal.

If we can find a situation where washer/dryer are on the same floor, that’d be OK. TBH, we like DVC properties but too rich for our blood this year.

Thank you for the ideas. We’re looking into a couple Marriott resorts as possibilities.

Well there are plenty in the area that are all decorated exactly the same because they are completely run by the "company" and the "owners" only own points and have no input into the units design or decor.

I would seriously look at Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort. Technically not on property but you have to go through property to get to it, so it feels like it is. The units are all the same like a hotel and they have everything you want. I'd stay here every time if I could but there are usually just two of us so not necessary since we are park centric. Great pools amenities and lakeview units have great views, some even fireworks. I have stayed in their one bedroom and two bedroom units.

Marriott Vacation Club has lots of great properties that rent by the night just like a hotel. I just stayed at World Center but their smallest unit is a 2 bedroom. It is right across from Disney Springs. Plus is it is attached to the hotel so you can use their pools, slides etc. We stayed in a 3 bedroom but would love to stay in Sabal Palms 2 bedroom.

I also just stayed at Marriott Grande Vista in a 1 bedroom. It was so large and roomy, everything you want including a nice view of golf course. It is closer to SeaWorld but didn't take long at all to get to Disney which we did 5 days. There are a couple others in that area plus some Hilton Vacation Clubs.

Hilton has just opened new hotels Homewood Suites and Home2Suites at Flamingo Crossing Western Way across from the newly constructed WDW College intern Campus.
New Target (small) and new Starbucks , new Walgreens , etc

This property would be considered near Animal Kingdom , I think.
Should doublecheck about bus transport provided?

Wow! You’ve all been so helpful, thanks so much.
Looks like I have my work cut out for me - better get busy on the computer. So many great choices & the snow has arrived here so I’m more motivated than ever to get something booked ASAP. 😀
