Why is it 90% (probably more if I stopped to figure the exact numbers) of recruiters don't bother reading resumes? My resume clearly states what I'm looking for and what I know right down to my level of knowledge with various tools and languages.
SO... all day long I fend off phone calls and emails for positions that are NOT even a close fit for me.
I just got off the phone with one woman who refused to tell me anything about the position up front, but rather wanted to play 100 questions about my background. When she finally did tell me the title of the role I quickly told her it was not a fit and she would have seen this in my resume. She said she had read it asked me what I was looking for to which I replied, "Well, if you had read my resume you'd see it clearly written at the top under the section labled Objective. I don't think you're a good fit for me as a recruter... " <<<CLICK>>> she hung up.
Whaa? Was it something I said?
Please know, I'm not putting down the other 10% of recruiters, I am currently working with a few wonderful people who are upfront and honest and know how to read.
