I am probably jumping th gun....but...we have a short (3 day/2night) stay at BCV. I booked it because it was going to be a hot time of year and I thought my DD(7) would love SAB. With a multitude of negative posts on various subjects, I am wondering if I should see if my home BWV has any openings.

Would love to hear some positive BCV stories so I can really put this percentage in perspective.

Thanks
Sandy

At one time or another every resort seems to get a "bashing". I'm not sure what causes it. Maybe it's just timing that people who post have bad experiences. If you change to BWV, you may find that next month you're seeing nothing but bad reports about BWV. The same could happen with any other resort. I wouldn't let reports here scare you off of your planned trip.

I'm one of the people who had a less-than-stellar stay at the BCV recently. Honestly, I'd vote for switching to the BWV. I'm not sure what is going on with the BCV, but my guess is that it is under incredible demand because it's still pretty new and so many people are just now making their 1st trip "home". I just think that they haven't worked all the kinks out there yet. It will be a while before we stay at the BCV again, but we're very much looking forward to staying in our "home" at the BWV this fall:D

We stayed there last July and had a wonderful time. No problems what so ever. We are going back in June and expect to have the same.

We stayed at BCV in December. While we did have a few service issues (housekeeping forgot to give us T & T day, and valet parking was not efficient), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at BCV. dpending upon what time in August, SAB may not be that crowded--you know how it is, in the earlier part of the swim season, everyone is so thrilled to be in the pool, whereas the later it is in the year, the less appeal the pool has. I would definitely stick with the BVC reservation.

We've made five trips "home" to BCV since opening day last July. We have never had a bad stay. We've stayed in ST, 1BR and 2BRs. We've had pool views and Epcot Views. We've been close to the road and away from it. Each of our stays was still magical.

On the other hand, I stayed at BWVs this past January, and had a less-than-magical experience. You win some, you lose some. I don't think I'd change my reservations based on a few comments on the boards. Someone else's bad experiences may not be mine. JMHO.

Stayed a week last August and loved it! Going back this July, and wouldn't give up our week at BCV for anything!

Can't Wait!

Thanks..I needed that reassurance.

Targel -

When are you checking in to VWL? I will be there in July

Thanks again everyone
Sandy

We stayed at the BCV last August in a 2bdrm and I went with my mom in Nov and stayed in a studio. Both visits were wonderful. This is really my favorite resort for many reasons and I think I would stay there everytime given the opportunity, but DH wants to stay at OKW so he doesn't have to walk to the car:rolleyes:

If you clean a house really well, no one seems to notice or comment, but if a house is dirty, everyone will seem to take notice and find fault. So it is with trip reports -- many wonderful trips simply go unsung, while less-than-magical times are often vented at great length.

Go, keep your ressie at BCV and have a grand time... and then do us all the favor of reporting about how wonderful it was!

Cindy

I had a wonderful stay in January and would love to go back in August but had to waitlist. We are trying BWV and hope we love it as well. Barb

I have stayed at my "home" BCV 2 times so far and will be staying for a 3rd time in 2 more days. I have had a wonderful time evey time I have been there. There was minor things not working or missing from the room, but they were always taken care of very quickly. Things like that can and do happen everywhere.

I like BWV better (I like the layout better). However, I stayed at BCV and had a great time!!

We stayed in a one-bedroom twice last year - once in July/August, and once right before Christmas. My little ones love the sand-bottom pool at SAB, we love the atmosphere, and we didn't have a single problem! I really believe all the resorts have their own magic, but we look forward to staying at BCV again and again in the years to come!

I'm just back from a five night stay in a studio at BCV. It was wonderful, no problems at all. The room was perfect, and the kids loved SAB. We would not hesitate to go back.

We stayed at BCV in March and had a WONDERFUL time! It is a beautiful resort. The kids LOVED Storm Along Bay. We even pool hopped over to BW on day so they would try out the roller coaster slide. We all fell in love with Beaches and Cream, such a cute place (we all split a Kitchen Sink).

I am sure that there is always going to be problems at any resort at some time. But BC is worth trying out, our only regret is that we didn't do the character breakfast at Cape May (but next time it is on our list!).

westjones - Were you able to finish the Kitchen Sink? Good job!! We also love Beaches & Cream!

And I need to say that the character breakfast at Cape May was fun, but we particularly love their dinner buffet. Very yummy!

I must confess, the 4 of us (DH, Twin 10 yo DDs, and me) could not finish our Kitchen Sink. We didn't even eat lunch! We just ordered this and was making great progess through most of it, but towards the bottom we each started to drop out (DH continued the longest :D ).

It was such fun! But next time we all want to try something else. There is a LOT of great sounding ice cream items on their menu!

I know how you feel.

I stayed at BCV in a 1 BR over NYE and had a great stay. Everything was perfect :). We have reservations for early July in a Studio and even I am getting a bit nervous. It's not that things go wrong that worries me because things can go wrong in any hotel. It's the reaction from management that worries me. Perhaps the management at the BC is streched too thin to always respond in the right way.

A few years ago there were several plane crashes in a month, and I remarked to a friend that I wouldn't want to fly at that time. His response was thought-provoking.... to the effect that the safest time to fly is after a recent air tragedy, as all the controls are tightened and everybody is on their guard.

This analogy may well apply here - if there are more problems at BCV right now (and it may be that, or it may be just coincidence that the recent negatives happened to people who post here). No doubt DVC management will be aware of these things and working to correct them. So the next few weeks or months may be a GREAT time to go, if you believe that the anecdotes on these boards are representative of significant issues.

OTOH, DH and I were at BCV last October for 5 days in a 1-BR. WE LOVED IT!!! The rooms were perfect. I called to request a blender and there was a knock on our door within 3 minutes - a Mousekeeper delivering the blender. DH was celebrating his Birthday, and we were also belatedly celebrating our Anniversary, and we received 2 cards - one signed by Mickey on DH's B-day, and one from Minnie & Mickey on our last day, congratulating us on our anniv.

We enjoyed B&C twice, We loved the character breakfast at Cape May, and the CMs we passed in hallways were so friendly that we started writing down their names (from their CM badges) so we could email DVC upon our return home to give praise.

It was heavenly, and the only bad part of the trip was that it had to end.

So, I'd agree with other posters that you should stick with your BCV plans and enjoy!

Have a great trip, whatever you decide.
