We've always stayed on property and ridden buses, but on our upcoming trip, we are staying offsite and will be parking our car a the TTC to go to MK. We will be arriving for rope drop on a day with EMM (but not doing EMM). I've read about some monorail delays/breakdowns. Just wondering if the ferry is a better, more dependable option than the monorail? I know you would have to wait for it to arrive, etc. Just curious what everyone's experience/advice is ...

The Ferry and the Monorail both take about the same amount of time, especially at morning/evening "rush hour" where the line for the monorail may be very long.

It's really hit or miss.
Right now with spring break crowds transportation has been pretty reliable in the mornings. During lower crowd seasons, the best bet is the resort monorail if the express isn't up yet. I've been using express for the past couple of weekends with and making it into the park by 8:30 (parking about 8).

The ferry can be a pain because some mornings they only have 1 running. So it can take 30-40 minutes to get across if you just miss loading (10 for it to get there, 10 to get back, and 10 to get there + loading). There have been times when I've parked around 8 and entered the park the same time as guests who parked at 8:30, since that's about the time transportation is running at full capacity.
