What are the recommended restaurants in both parks? For both CS and TS. Will we need reservations for the TS? And if so, how early should we make our reservations.
Planning for our next trip next year, we're newbies at Universal. This year we're doing 4 days at WDW and 2 at Universal (1 day in each park at Universal).
We're a family of 5 (3 adults with Grandma, 2 kids (will be 6 & 2). Mix of Vegetarians and not.

Definitely Thunder Falls Terrace for IoA dining if you are doing CS there. I think it was the best CS meal we had all vacation. And the portions were HUGE.

US: TS: Finnegan's Bar & Grill (Irish food); CS: Louie's Italian (good pizza).

IOA: TS: Mythos Restaurant (usually closes early so the best time to eat there is lunch time); CS: No preference.

Reservations are usually not required, but one strategy is to stop by one of the Dinner and Reservation carts, located at Citywalk and at both parks, in the morning and make a reservation at that time. Or stop by the park's guest services and make the reservation with them.

I loved Lombards seafood place in US and there was a fantastic place for gorgeous cakes, but I can`t remember the name. Finnegans is nice as well.
In IOA got to agree, love Thunder Falls, they do amazing chicken wraps, and the chicken and ribs were lush.
Liked Mythos too.... a lot :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 to all of the above (except lombards which i haven't tried as nothing appeals to kiddo...believe they have a CS next to restaurant w/some of the same offerings? im sure somebody here will know).

especially shocked as to how good Louies pizza was, we're picky & ate it out of despiration last trip as it was one of the few venues still open late.

Thunder terrace really has a nice atmosphere, as well as great ribs & chicken; fun to watch the JP boats outside too

my family likes the international cafe place for some reason:confused3 , it's adequate @ best imo.

we've had yucky food @ both Louies & the Creature From Black Lagoon place:rolleyes:

We like Confisco grille in IOA - gd food reasonable prices - we usually go either prior to the lunch rush 11:30ish or around 1:30pm and never have problems getting in - longest wait we had was 20 minutes - but as stated above you can make a ressie at one of the reservations cart in the am.

Sue

AT citywalk we love NBA cafe and Margaritivilles:goodvibes

My choices are:

IOA:

TS: Mythos ~ CS: Thunder Falls Terrace

Studios:

TS: Finnegan's ~ CS: Louie's

I have questions about Louie's. I looked up their menu and I didn't see much that appealed to me, but I want to know what I'm missing, is it because they have amazing pizzas??? Or is there something else you order. :confused3 I'm not a huge pizza fan, unless they are really, really good.

We went to Universal probably 5? years ago during the Mardi Gras celebration, and will be back there a week from today -- again for Mardi Gras. Last time, they had a big food fest with tents set up for all kinds of barbeque and other items -- do they still do that during Mardi Gras? My husband loved it, but it was not easy to manage (everyone wanted something different, and every line was nuts).

Yes...the whole Central Park and surrounding area was full of tents offering different types of food.

Thanks for the reply! I looked at their menu again, maybe I'd like the veggie pizza, or the meatball sub and maybe the chicken alfredo, although this stuff seems a little heavy for lunch during the summer months, but still I think my group of 3 adults and 3 kids could find something we could all eat here! :thumbsup2

the salads at Louie's are great.

i love to get the pizza and salad deal there.

if you have the ap or aaa, show it and you will get a 10% discount at Louie's

If you like hot dogs, there's a Nathan's stand in Amity.

patster, the chicago dogs weren't bad there.
i had a couple of them during the last few trips.

Lisa loves Nathan's hotdogs (and I like them too) so we usually find time to stop by the stand on each trip. Then its fun to watch people disembarking from Jaws while we eat.

If its open when your there, Fire Eaters Grille in Lost Continent has the best gyros!
