Looking forward to some good laughs next week with the family. We are having around 14 people for dinner and wanted to fill the evening with interactive fun. Any new games out there for ages 6-adult. We have pictionary, cranium, yahtzee. Looking for something different and to stimulate those who are sleepy from eating too much turkey!
Thanks!

The Magic Kingdsom Game is a big hit here. Tripoli works well, we use pennies instead of the chips.

We like Scategories and Taboo :goodvibes . No one will play Disney Scene it with me :confused3 (sore losers  )

My family loves Apples to Apples and Mad Gab. They are both a lot of fun.

Both sides of our family LOVE to play games. My IL's play a game called 31 with just a regular deck of cards. In order to play you have to have a dollar in quarters. The dealer passes out three cards to each player. The object is to not have the lowest total of same suite cards. The person with the lowest total when a person knocks pays the kitty. You go clockwise around the table drawing and discarding you have to have at least 17 points to knock and once a person knocks everyone except that person gets one more turn at drawing and discarding. When you are out of quarters you are done the person that outlasts everyone gets the kitty. That family also loves to play Farkle that game has dice and money I believe.

Now my family we are addicted to Sequence. It's only a three player game but a whole lot of fun. I noticed someone else commented on Apples to Apples that one is big with my family too. We also like to play spoons.

I love board games...and so does my DS who is 5. Labryinth is a good one and it comes in adult as well as junior versions. I like the Cataan series too, but Carcassone is good (another medieval empire building type game) has less reading if that is an issue for any kids. Another one is called Killer Bunnies...It's a very funny cartoony (not like Pokemon)card game where you collect carrots and try to keep your bunnies alive.

If you're really looking into it, try this website " boardgamegeeks.com...(hmm, the link doesn't seem to be working, but when I type the website in manually, it works...)

Hmmmm...the Sequence game we have has Red, Green and Blue Chips to use for three players. We do sometimes play in teams if there are more then three people that want to play. Like I will play with my dd since she is younger and sometimes doesn't see all of the openings. So you must have four different colors of chips?? That would be nice since we have a family of four.

We just got Headbanz and our 5 & 6 year olds love it. They want to play it every day. We had some friends over the other day who did not have kids & we all played it & everyone thought it was great. Very easy but fun.

We are a huge game family! We love Scattegories and Mad Gab is fun. Hillarium is also great, it literally made my BIL wet his pants he was laughing so hard!

For that number, the perfect game is 'Werewolf', also known as 'Mafia'. You need one host, and the one deck of cards, or index cards, to randomly assign werewolves and villagers. Instructions are here:

Note if you use playing cards for roles, use black cards for wolves, red cards for villagers, and the joker for the seer. The game is a fantastic insight to mob mentality and watching people defend themselves from a hanging, as morbid as it sounds, is great.

Another vote for Scattegories! We play this a lot with DH's extended family. It works for mixed ages, and gets very funny.

We love Taboo, Scattagories, Guesstures, PIT, Stackable UNO, (someone always brings a new game,....as we LOVE to play games on the holidays. We have now included Scene it,, and believe it or not we have gotten Grandpa to play rockband and Guitar Hero.

Oh, and I forgot to add that if "your grandpa" plays rockband... get the video camera out.... the grandkids were having a ball and the memories will be priceless.

We've been playing 31 in my family for years! If you like it google a card game called golf. It's a lot of fun.
