Recommendations with 2 year old

I'd like some suggestions on "Must Do's" with a 2 year old. We have 2 days left on our old PHP's and will be going to MK and possibly Epcot and AK. Is there anything else you would highly recommend we do (either at the parks or outside?) Thanks.

When our son was that age he absolutely loved the jumping water in epcot....I know it sounds simple but he still talks about how much fun he had in the "dancing water", we had alot of fun watching him too! Character meals, the train in MK, and toontown were a pretty big hit too! Just the magic of being there!

Hi, I would also say a "character meal" Crystal Palace for Breakfast is REALLY GOOD!! And has POOH and friends. One of MY personal Favs! Joan

DS loved the character meals (was 23.5 months old for the trip). I would probably do Chef Mickeys though NOT on a day where you have park passes, like your arrival night. That way you can take your time with the characters and not loose any ride time. This was his favorite character meal (we did Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, and CRT).

For rides, he LOVED BUZZ LIghtyear, Philharmagic, Its a Small World, and the whole toontown area in MK. He would have ridden any of those rides all day!He also liked Pooh and the carousel.

In AK, he LOVED the Lion King show, and watching the animals. He also liked the dig site.

MGM he loved Little Mermaid.

Honestly, I would probably skip EPCOT if I were you. DS really had no interest in anything there. He didnt mind el rio de tiempo or spaceship earth, but he wasnt a big fan of either.

DS loved the water, anywhere! Epcot has the water splash area things, mk has them in toontown and the new pooh area. I dont think AK had any Pop had a water playground, as did DTD. The ones at DTD are not on a soft pad though, so be careful as ds slipped (well, actually got ran down ) and went down hard.

Have a great trip! I know we did. If I could do it all over again, I would spend the most time in MK. If I only had two days with ds at this age again, I would probably go to AK for the lion king, and then spend the rest of the time in MK.

I'd recommend Chef Mickey's. We ate there twice and we were only at WDW for 4 nights. The food is nothing to write home about the atmosphere is so great. DD had a fantastic time. It was a great distraction when she was tired and we were trying to get thru an evening until bedtime. We only went to MK. (It was a short "test" trip!) DD loved everything in FantasyLand. Buzz was a HUGE hit. We rode Dumbo, teacups, Pooh and Buzz more times than I can remember. Have a wonderful trip. I'm so itching to get back there!

We just got back. My DS 2.5 loved Buzz Lightyear, Goofy Coaster, Snow White ride, Country Bears, I could list everything he loved it all. His fave meal was CRT lunch. He just loves Snow White.

We just got back, our daughter is barely 2.5 and we went on nearly everything at MK except the rollercoasters (although she went on Barnstormers and loved it!)and Stitches Great Escape(no loss there-lol). She loved Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan, the Carrousel, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Magic Carpets, Dumbo, etc. (we were there nearly one full day plus for the MNSSHP, otherwise we wouldn't have made it on all the rides)

As far as Epcot, she didn't do too much there. Unfortunantly Living Seas was closed. She did the IMagination ride, the Spaceship Earth, and walked around the lands (she did the little boat ride in Mexico, where we ate). She was a sport though. It was geared more for my son's ages (7.5, 6.5) A hint though, there's a fun little play area in the waiting area for Mission Space, I was hanging out in the gift shop and decided to go back there, and was glad I did.

MGM -she loved Playhouse Disney show, Little Mermaid, Muppet show. We only spent half a day there, but she probably would have like Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic.

Animal Kingdom-she did the safari, the small ride in Dino Land, (she slept through Bugs Life, which I'm glad because even my boys were a little scared), she mostly liked the animals. Most of the rides were geared for older kids. We didn't get to see the shows(Lion King and Pocohantas), although I'm sure she would have liked those.

Hope that helps. I was glad she was able to enjoy so much, I was worried she'd get bored.

We just got back, and our 23 month oldwas a Dumbo and Carousel FAN.
He didn't stop giggling the whole time. The teacups were fun for him too, as were Philharmagic, the speedway and the Country Bear Jamboree. Boat rides were also a hit - IASW, the Land at Epcot, and he also enjoyed Lion King. And the one place we couldn't get him out of? Pooh's Thotful Spot. Water, slides, a playhouse...he was a very happy camper.
Oh, and our magical moment was during Wishes. He looked up, saw Tink, and kept repeating ' pretty fly...wuv you!' I seriously had tears

We just came back a week ago, and I had a thread of things my children liked, but I think it's lost in the shuffle here.

My children 2.5 and 15 mths loved Magic Kingdom. My 2.5 didn't like darkened theatres but loved all kinds of rides. My 15mth old loved everything-rides and theatre.

My children loved : Winnie the Pooh ride, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland Teacups, Magic Carpets of Alladin, Buzz Lightyear, and the Tiki Boats.

And it's a must for the little ones to go to the Winnie the Pooh play/sprayground. It's made just for the little ones. It's a wonderful place to let them run free for a while, and cool off in the sprays if they desire.

I didn't have the children do Snow White, but knowing their personalities, I felt the witch would really scare them, and she's very prominent in the ride, moreso than Snow White. Some children don't mind this, though.

At MGM: Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground is fun for little ones and older children. There is a section for the newly walking ones.

Beauty and the Beast was a hit for us. (It wasn't a darkened theatre). Also my 15 mth old loved Voyage of the Little Mermaid, but I can see some children got a bit afraid of the Sea Witch. Playhouse Disney is there as is the Muppets.

DGrD (just 2) loved all of the rides and shows mentioned - and the water play areas (in her picture with Ariel she looks like SHE just came out of the ocean - but she had a blast!) - but the thing she loved the most was the parades !! - she sat in her stroller and clapped and waved and called out to all of the characters and sang the songs she knew - now that we're home she begs to watch the "Boo to you" parade every single day !

Thanks for the great input. Any suggestions on character meals - Preferably breakfast and lunch. We don't want something crazy expensive but we also would like a decent meal. From a previous posters recommendation, I booked Chef Mickey's for breakfast but she also mentioned the food isn't great. We've done 1900 park faire and didn't like the food. Any other thoughts?

LMK, my kids loved the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. They have buffets for all the meals. There is a wide variety to choose from. Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger come to all the tables, and they even have little parades.

DS2.5 really enjoyed Donald's breakfast at AK. THere was a nice selection of food choices there for him too. It was the best he ate all trip. We had an 8:20 ADR so when we finished the park was just opening and we got to walk on all the rides in the back of the park. We even rode the Dinosaur ride like Dumbo back to back without having to get off.

We got back last week. My son will be 3 in November and he loved Figment and every other ride that he was tall enough to go on. He did not like waiting for his older brothers to do rides that he could not. We did crystal palace and Chef Mickeys and he enjoyed both. Believe it or not his favorite thing was Typhoon Lagoon. He loved the whole water park. He has asked several times a day everyday since we went to go back to the water place. It is very cold now in Vermont and I keep telling him he can't go until it warms up, but he insists that we can get in the car and drive there. My suggestion is to try different things and see how your child responds. You may be surprised as I was by what the favorite might be.

I would recommend:

The Ariel Show at MGM (Though there is the part were Ursala gets killed and there is a storm and the lights grow dark. That kind of freaked out my littler kids.)

Winnie the Pooh ride is great and a lot of fun.

Playhouse Disney Show (but make sure you come 30-60 minutes early because the have floor seating and if you come late you won't be able to see-thats when the waterworks start )

I hope you have a magical time!

P.S. My little guy liked the Figment Ride, but there is a part where a truck comes and the lights grow dark, and you think you are going to get hit by the truck. That part was a little scary for him. Other than that, it's pretty fun!
