Hello. We have been to WDW 2 times so far. This will be our first as DVC members. Our first time "going home" to BWV. But before we are going to have to stay 2 nights at Saratoga which we don't really mind b/k we thought we would plan our activities around the time at resorts (like going to Downtown , etc while at Saratoga, etc. ) . But our time is going to be a little more limited than in the past so I know you guys have much more experience than we do as far as trips probably. I would like your recommendations on these activities:

Hoop De Doo (we did this last time and LOVED it, so it is probably going to be a definite).
Fantasmic (did this on our first trip) and thought about getting the package with 50's prime time.
Disney Quest (since we will be right there)
Cirque De Soleil ... never done at Disney
One of the comedy places . I think there is one that has a little more interaction but want it to be child appropriate (ages 11 and 12).
Typhoon Lagoon (I think it may actually be open and not under refurbishment then).

I think those are the ones we are deciding on. If you have anything else you highly recommend, I would love to hear from you! Thanks so much!

I guess I should mention that we are going the first of Jan. 07. It will be me, DH, DS and DD. Just the four of us.

I'd definitely recommend Cirque. I did it a couple of years ago with family and am doing it again next week for my birthday with a friend. It's great (but costly). Enjoy your stay.

My DH and I went to SSR and BWV in Jan 06. I wouldn't count on making it to Blizzard Beach and/or Typhoon Lagoon. It was mighty cold and we ended up swimming only one day but it was only for a couple hours. I live in Pennsylvania so I'm used to the frigid air but in Floridia it was in the low to mid 30's for 8 of the 10 nights of our trip. If you do plan on going - I would have a back up plan!!

My family and I love Disney Quest. If you like video games (and I very much do), it is a dream come true. All the latest games, many older ones and tons of virtual reality games. Best of all, they are free (once you get in), so you can play as much as you want. Plan on a night at DQ if this sounds good to you....you will love it.

Typhoon Lagoon will likely be closed for rehab, and the weather will be iffy for any water park anyway. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Cirque! We like Hoop dee Doo too, but not enough to do it two years in a row. With the exception of Brown Derby, we find the restaurant choices at MGM to be less than stellar, so we usually just go to Fantasmic without doing the dinner package. We always get better seats than we did with the dinner package anyway.

I agree with diana. Welcome Home to the BWV our home also. You will love it there. Have a great vacation.

Thanks guys. Looks like Cirque de Soleil is a must for us this trip. And my DS wants to go to Disney Quest so I think we can add that pretty reasonably to our tickets. We figure those two things will be great when at SSR.

Now, trying to decide on rest's. What do you guys think of these choices?

Le Cellier (we think this is a must this trip b/k we've heard so many great things)
Boma (did this last trip and really enjoyed it)
50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi
California Grill (not sure about it with the kids)
Any others? I think I may post this on the main restaurant page as well. But, I know many of you all go often and have had a lot of experience with these. Thanks again!

We always have a great time at '50s Prime Time, and we also love Le Cellier.
We'll be going back to California Grill next trip, as it was outstanding the last time we went. However, we'll be leaving the kids (ages 9 and 11) at the Neverland Club. It's fine to take kids there, but I look at it as a leisurely meal, and expensive, so I think both the kids and us are better off with DH and I going alone.

I would skip Hoop De Doo and the Fantasmic Dinner Package and use the $$ for Cirque, and with the ages of your kids, I imagine they would enjoy Disney Quest. I went on a weekday last year with an adult friend to check it out - I told her that my kids then were too young (at 8 and 9) to really enjoy it but I said when they are 11 and 12, I'd be comfortable taking them and letting them explore together while I played, too :)

Regarding restaurants, we like Prime Time Cafe - we've always had a fun experience and found that the food was pretty good, too. If you get one of the sandwiches, you could split it between two adults - it's plentiful. And save room for Dad's Super Sundae for dessert - mmmm....
