There are 11 of us on our disney family vacation and the last night we are at Disney we would like to make reservations somewhere to all eat together for supper. The ages in our group range from 3 to 70. I am looking for recommendations that include dining with a show or some type of entertainment. I want to stay away for anywhere that is too loud as it is hard for my dad to have a conversation where there is alot of background noise. But yet my 3 year old niece and 5 year old nephew need to be entertained. Prefer not eating at buffet. Thanks.

The Luau at the Polynesian is usually very good - but booked full months and months in advance.

I've been to it only once and I don't remember it being too loud from memory... :confused3

Oh, well I was going to suggest Hoop Dee Doo, but you said you didnt want a lot of background noise :D Not the best idea then. I cant think of anywhere that will give you entertainment, but not a lot of background noise, IMO those 2 dont go together..

I recommend for family dinner shows:

1) On-Site
. . . Hoop Dee Do Review, then
. . . Chip-n-Dale Campfire after the HDDR show

2) Off-Site
. . . Medieval Times Dinner Theater (jousting, etc), or
. . . Sleuth Dinner Theater (murder mystery)

How about Coral Reef? The fish tanks might keep the kids occupied.

The Spirit of Aloha show is loud, but not so much that you can't talk. Although the show is continous .... so maybe not a great choice if thats what your looking for. The coral reef would be a wonderful option I think. The tank is a lot of fun to watch at any age and there is no noise level at all. O'hana would'nt be a bad option either. It can get loud, but only at times and if you time it right for later at night you can even see wishes from quite a few tables.

some "non-dinner-show" but entertaining meal ideas...

my kids *loved* the music and show at biergarten, and the tables are very conducive to a large group... also the volume may not be too overwhelming for your dad if you ask to be seated in the "balcony" level... but it is a buffet...

another thought if the food would appeal to everyone is marrakesh (restaurant in morocco)... the belly dancer is very entertaining...

we also enjoyed our dinner at mama melrose (we had a group of 10 ages 10-85) as there were "streetosphere" characters that came around and visited our table and kept things lively...

yet another thought is the sit-down restaurant in japan... the chefs put on a "show" and the food is simple and basic appealing to most...

of course there's always a character meal to keep the kids happy... the non-buffets that i can think of are: garden grill, liberty tree tavern, and akershus (norway)...

My family likes Hoop dee Doo. I've taken kids who ranged from 3 to 13 and adults in their 40's, 60's and 70's, and it was enjoyed by all. I don't recall what the background noise was - I think anytime there's a show you're going to have it. We had no trouble talking at our table, though.

My family enjoyed the Outta Control Magic Show on I-Drive. It is a magic show with all-you-can-eat pizza and popcorn. It doesn't seat as many people as some of the other dinner shows in town so it is quieter.

There is a nice show at the Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. I was also actually surpirsed at how much we liked the food. Only DH loves German food, but we all thought it was a good buffet.

Unfortunately for you, if you are trying to do this in the trip you have planned for two months from now, you might not have too many option. Alot of places will already be booked.

Don't forget about character restaurants. These are also enjoyable for all ages.

HDDR is a really good time and appealing to everyone. The show tends to be loud and not easy to talk over, but there are several lulls in the entertainment to allow time to eat and converse throughout the show. Although, you may want to keep in mind that it is quite a long show. I think DH and I had reservations at 9:00 (???), and we didn't get back to our hotel until close to midnight. Another downfall, at least IMO, is how difficult it is to get to. You need to allot a good deal of time for bussing. Hope this helps!

Have fun!
