I'm looking to purchase a new cookware set and would like some suggestions. After using my old set on the gas grill during the hurricane, it's time for a new one. I have had the same cookware set since I got married in 1988, it's a Paul Revere set with the copper bottoms.

I really don't want to spend a lot of $, no more than $150. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

TIA :sunny:

We love our All Clad Stainless Steel, but that's definitely above $150 for an adequate 'set'. I prefer to buy the pieces separately so you can have some non-stick and what not.

I've heard good things about the Martha Stewart line sold at Kmart (shocking I know!). I've also heard good things about the Emeril line, but I think that's fairly pricy too.

I have the Analon professional and I LOVE them. They can go from the stove top to the oven so less mess when cooking. They have a couple "levels" and the regular set is only oven safe to 350 degrees. The professional level has metal handles and is oven safe to 500 degrees. I like these better then Calpholon because the handles don't get hot on the stove top (I have some Calpholon pans as well). They clean up so easily! Our water heater quit one day and it took two days to get a new one installed. I made mac-n-cheese for the kids for lunch, the stuff sat in the pan for two days and wiped right out. The set runs about $165 or so, so a bit more then you want but they are WELL worth the price.

My Cuisinart boxed set from Belk was $100. We're pretty happy with them so far, you just can't use them over high heat.

I just bought Cook's Essential from QVC, I just love them! They can also go in the oven! Great Price!

I agree with the QVC Cook's Essential line. I have a set too and really like it. I have had mine for several years. I wish I had another 5 QT pan though :) maybe Santa will bring me one!

No offense, you get what you pay for. I have never used a set that cost $150 that would actually last that long. We have All Clad and sooo worth the money. Lifetime guarantee, dishwasher safe, oven safe and all stainless. Cost about $500 but I doubt I will need another set in my life!

Love Cook's Essentials as well. They were a Consumer Reports best buy. The stainless 500 line can go under the broiler and the other lines can go in the oven to 350 degrees. :)

We have a set made by Cuisinart. I love it but it cost about $350. Sorry, but I cook almost everyday and quality pans are important to me. :guilty:

I understand what you're saying, no need to apologize. :) I'm the opposite, quality pans aren't important to me. I detest cooking, I only do it because I have to. :teeth:

I checked out the Emeril line, I didn't know he has a cookware line. :confused3 They aren't outrageously priced and come with a lifetime guarantee. :sunny: I will also check out QVC for the ones recommended.

Thanks for the recommendations!

my set is 36 years old.....it is stainless steel 18/10 ......my mother in law gave me her set and it is like new and it is over 60 years old..also 18/10 stainless steel.....I love stainless steel and you can scrub it with brillo pads or anything and it is always clean and no scratches........look into that

Cook's Essentials from QVC are the best pans. My entire family now has them and I bought a set for my camper!

Rita, all the good pre-Christmas sales are coming up. I would wait and see what deals are offered. I got a nice Calphalon 10pc. set last year the day after Christmas for $149.
