ANyone who has stayed at Kidani, recommend a certain SV 1 bdrm? It appears I should as to be on the SUnset Savannah. We are going the last weekend of Feb., so not real concerned about being near the pool. ( it will be me, DH, DD21 DD21'sbest friend.) ALso, we will probably walk over to Jambo to use the Mara. It's our first time at Kidani, so I dont' understand about the "underground" parking. Everyone keeps putting it in quotation marks-I am not sure why. Can someone explain that? I cannot find a map like LisaS posted of Jambo with colors noting types of rooms. Does one like that exist for Kidani?
SOrry for long post & questions! Trying to get a feel for this place. Thanks, Debbie

I think people are reluctant to give you a specific villa to ask, suppose it's not available, then what sort of request do you want? If you want the Sunset Savannah, then request that, maybe near the lobby. I have my first Kidani 1 bedroom reservation coming up in March, and haven't made any requests.

The underground parking is really just the first floor, it's not underground.

People may be saying it is "underground" parking since it is not truly under the ground but it is UNDER the ground floor (lobby). But the rooms on the lobby floor are actually considered the 2nd floor and the parking level is level 1. Have been at Kidani but in a standard studio and a savannah view 2 bedroom dedicated. Our room request stated "ground floor near lobby".

We stayed in a 1 BR in the Rafiki section and it was the perfect location for us. It was close to the lobby and the pool and was on the Sunset Savannah.

Thanks everyone! Both the explanations & the picture helped explain the parking. Thanks for the input on area suggstions. I think I will just ask for SUnset savannah. We are taking my daughter's friend that has not been to WDW since she was 4, so wanted to add to the magic if she couldsee a good amoutn of animals. OF course she's at WDW, so the magic will be all over!! Debbie

Do you have to be near the lobby to avoid long walks down the hallways? Aren't there more entrances from the parking area than just near the lobby?

I think people request to be near the lobby because that also puts them close to the pool and the bus stop. If you weren't going to use the pool or the buses at all and planned to drive to Jambo House if you wanted to eat there then you could request to be near any of the parking lot elevators.

We love to walk and didn't mind being near the end of the north wing. There was very little hallway noise because there were so few people walking past our room. We got to look in on the Pembe Savanna every time we walked to the pool, lobby or bus stop so we got to enjoy two savannas. The night we had dinner at Boma in Jambo House, the walk back was nearly 3/4 of a mile but it was still too short to walk off that meal!

One thing that does matter to me is being on the lowest possible floor. I prefer being as close to the animals as possible and appreciated having a room on the second floor this trip.

Another consideration is if you plan to walk to Jambo House a lot (to eat breakfast there several mornings for example) then you might prefer to be in the south wing. That would also put you closer to the bus stop but further from the pool.

There is a resort map here.

Thanks! We're taking my mom who is in a wheelchair. We won't likely use the pool or the bus stop at all. I think I will do a request to be near a parking lot elevator on a low floor.

Thanks! Maybe I will request a lower floor--are there 5 floors like Jambo? Also I can't open the map. It just comes up w/a box & an "x"! I'll do search. Debbie
