Hey ya'll!

I know over the years Disney has put out a number of CDs with music from the theme parks. Does anyone know the best one/ definitive one? And is it still in print? I searched on itunes but there is nothing there of the sort.

I go to DLR every month or so, so if it's only available in the park, I could get it next trip but if anyone knows if the CD they recommend is available for order on the net, I would love to get it sooner (I love doing my work with the music from the park as background).

Any help is much appreciated- thank you!

They have a newer one out. I don't know what the real title is. But it has Mickey and maybe Minnie on the cover in front of the castle with fireworks. The cover looks very 50th anniversary-ish to me, but it's not. It's a 2 disc and has music from both DL and DCA. The date on the back of the CD case is 2008. I saw it at the Emporium, Greetings in DCA, and WOD. I'm sure they have it at plenty of other stores too. The price was $29.99.

Ah great news! Thank ya much PPB!

I have to say that the best one available is A Musical History of Disneyland. It's a six disc set released as part of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. It contains extensive ride audio of many classic attractions and shows such as POTC, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, the MSEP, and Fantasmic. It also has some seasonal attractions such as Haunted Mansion Holiday, It's a Small World Holiday. It also contains audio from many attractions no longer found in Disneyland. For obvious reasons, there is no music from DCA on this set, but some DCA attractions can be found on the most recent 2 disc DLR set.

I believe it's still available since I bought mine a month or so ago from amazon.

I got this last month and it's not bad. It doesn’t cover everything in the two parks but it gets most of the best rides and some background music from a couple lands. It also has the audio from the fireworks show which is pretty nice. I wish it had some of the safety spiels that I think about with the rides that don't have theme music (BTMRR and the Matterhorn) but I'd recommend it.

When I picked this set up, I also got two other CDs that covered POTC and HM. Those are very nice. The entire ride is played out on each CD plus they add alternate recordings, abandoned concepts and background SFX. (Note the POTC CD was made before the Jack Sparrow additions so you get the old version with the old dialog pirate: )

I always buy a cd or two when i hit the parks each year we go. It tides me over till i get to come home again. Can't wait to see what they have in store for me this year.

The Dis Radio has been playing some songs from the Musical History of Disneyland lately. If I closed my eyes I almost could believe I was there! :lovestrucI've been thinking it would be neat to have too.

My exchange person just got me these. I love them. I haven't even been through them all yet. But they are great!

Which store in DL or DCA has the best selection of music?

20th Century Music Shop used to be a great place to get video and audio stuff. I have not checked lately to see if it is still open. It was next door to the magic shop on the east side.

Emporium has some stuff as does Greetings Under the Sun and World of Disney. Also there is a newer store on the southeast corner next to where Tony's was and next to the Magic Shop that sells ornaments, clothing, toys and other celebration related stuff which might have some CDs or DVDs. I have not been in shops much lately because I use a scooter.

Does anyone have a list of the CDs they are currently selling in the parks? I'm just looking for park music and ride audio.......I don't really need any Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers.:rotfl:

My favorite is the 2 disc set from the 50th..mainly because it has the whole fireworks show on it. I also still really like the Fantasmic soundtrack..

Held off buying the 100 dollar beast from Amazon cause I wanted to wait and see what they had at the park.

Just got back yesterday and picked up the 2 disc set called THE OFFICIAL ALBUM OF DISNEYLAND RESORT.

I was going for the 50th anniversary CDs but it seems it is now being sold as a single disc and thus less of the music (same one they are selling on Amazon) so I passed on that.

But I will say after listening to DIS RADIO the last several weeks, I miss some of the 'skits' that get played between the music so I think I'm gonna order the Amazon 100 dollar deal anyway :goodvibes

I've been doing all my work to DISRADIO (and now this new cd) for about a month now and it's SUCH a great way to get my work done. Very inspiring!

ps. by the way, KCMike, I picked the CD up at OFF THE PAGE at DCA (along with a very cool Disney Traditions Sorcerer's Apprentice statue/maquette that is now sitting happily on my book shelf offering inspiration as well!)

Off the Page is one of my favorite stores in both parks..they always seem to have the coolest stuff.

back from DLR. Here is your bestest spot for musci, Century Music which in near the Cinema on Main Street.

Books: Cook Books, Imagineering Field Guide, Zagat, Birnbaum, Hidden Mickeys, kids books, history of Disney books, and so much more.

Nintendo DS: Tink, Club Penguin, Cars and about a dozen selections total.
CDs: Disney's Greatest, Fantasmic music, Electric Parade music, sound tracks, event party music, fairy tale weddings, Disney Mania, pop stars like Jonas Brothers, and compilations to name a few.

DVD/VHS/Blue Ray: They have the latest Disney movies like Bolt and Ratatouille as well as old classics plus Disneyland related DVDs. I almost bought a Bolt on blue ray. No discounts on the older stuff it seems. Bolt was nearly $25.
