Recommendations for LBV area (cheaper end of market)

Debbie - don't worry about my 'no condo' comment - I didn't want a condo, but your post got me thinking and we are seriously considering the cypress pointe, you do seem to get an awful lot for your money.

I got a great deal on a 3 bedroom condo at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas through SkyAuction.com for $250.00usd.. Checking in Dec 9th, Checking out Dec 16th.. We have never used Skyauction before so hope it all works out.. But maybe that might work for you as well..

MTCW anyways..

Thanks everyone, we've decided to book the Comfort Inn - the Cypress Pointe one bedroom looked good but it meant someone had to sleep on a sofa bed, so we decided we'd rather have 2 beds and a free breakfast for less money.

in the end I made a spreadsheet listing all the options including staying on-site, and comparing all the features, and once listed clearly we were able to decide quite easily. I think it can be overwhelming comparing everything until you list it all out like that.

That's for sure. :) ::yes:: It's almost overwhelming! :earboy2:

Good luck and have a great trip! :wave2:

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott/Marriott village in Lake Buena Vista. It is very clean and pretty new , i think it was built in 2001. Beautiful pool and it also had fountains for the kids to run through! Free deluxe continental breakfast was offered and it far exceeded our expectations because it had huge, belgium waffles, 10 different cereals, oatmeal, pastries, baggels, crispy cream donots, yogurt, fresh fruit and I could go on and on....too many items to choose from! You could check around for rates....I stayed in June 2005 and paid $500 for 7 nights through a travel agency. We loved the newness of this hotel and the staff was always so nice and helpful! There is the Bahama Breeze restaurant within walking distance and also a golden coral, all you can eat restaurant which was good. Wdw was right around the corner! It also had a food court and arcade! Hope this helps. I think this is the site www.marriottvillage.com :)

Glad you've found something that works well for you and your family!

Here's a big woo hoo/shoutout/whatever the new slang word is to the Choice Hotels Best Rate program! I booked the Comfort Inn LBV on their website for $44.96 (plus tax) for 12/14. I then submitted a Best Rate Form showing them the link from TravelZoo for the $39.95 rate. They adjusted my rate to that less the 10%, so I now have a ressie for $35.96. Yay! Wish it had a hot tub, but I'll get over it. :banana:

We are staying 12/10-14 at Pop Century (first time onsite - yay!). We are heading down to my other sister's in Okeechobee on 12/15 (staying overnight), so I was looking for a cheap, clean place for just one night and picked CI-LBV.

Now I need to find cheap places for 12/9 in the Brunswick, GA area and on 12/16 somewhere between Jacksonville, FL and Savannah, GA. I was thinking of just stopping and seeing what we could find w/ the Roomsaver books, but they are both Friday nights, and that might be stupid as I don't want to end up in a Roach Motel :earseek: . Might try Priceline.

Okeechobee is not known for it's big hotel market :teeth: , so we will either be staying at the Holiday Inn or a Kamping Kabin at the KOA! Last trip we stayed in Ft. Pierce and drove to her house each day (abt 30 miles or so one way), but w/ gas prices and the place we stayed being about $30 higher, we won't do that this time. The trip from Okeechobee back to NC is a long one (over 600 miles!)and we will be leaving around midday that Friday, so we will stop overnight.
