I am looking for off site hotel accomodation for next February/March time, and I am really struggling to find anything under $100 night, all the deals listed on the Dis home page and mousesavers run out before next Feb, is end of Feb a busy time or is it too early?

Can anyone suggest anywhere clean and pleasant, we are staying for 2 weeks so don't want it to be nasty but we aren't expecting the ritz. I would really love somewhere with a breakfast, and even basic suites like the Buena Vista Suites but can't find those within our budget at all, and accept that this may be unrealistic.

The cheapest deal I have found anywhere is the Comfort Inn LBV for $68/night which is not bad, but when people have said they have paid $40 it feels too much.

PS - I would prefer a hotel to a condo, as we like the hotel atmosphere rather than the home away from home atmosphere

My suggestion would be to try priceline or hotwire...you wont be able to guarantee getting a suite hotel (and probably wont) but you can still get a nicer hotel for less money

Also try www.travelzoo.com they often have some good specials

We stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Comfort Inn in Feb this year. Like you said , "it isn't the ritz carlton", but it's quiet, clean and close to Disney. I don't know how old your kids are, ours are 8 & 5. They had an area to the room that had a small enclosure which had a set of bunk beds plus a twin with an armoire and a TV in between the beds, to make it seem like a mini room inside the room. They had a very nice pool area, quite huge. We enjoyed it there the night before our disney package started. I would stay there again. They also have a restaurant on-site, and Olive Garden is just down the road.Pm me your e-mail and I'll send you the map I have of the surrounding area.

you are going during spring break - so everything will be more expensive.

spring break starts President week in Feb and goes to the end of April.

that includes the entire month of March.

that is why everything you are looking at is more expensive.

change your trip to the first week of Feb or May.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites on Palm Parkway during the 4th of July week and paid $109 for a 1 bedroom suite. It was very large and had a kitchen and they served breakfast. I think they may have been bought out by somebody else so I don't know what the name is now.

That is a very busy time, so prices will be higher. If I were you, I'd jump on that $68/night at CI-LBV if it a cancelable reservation. If you do find soemthing better, you can cancel. If you don't, at least you will have something at a decent price.

Have you checked Hotelkingdom.com or Hotelmartusa.com?

there is a best western movieland for $79 first week of March
first week of May $52
first week of Dec $49.09

for $68 during this time period is cheap.

thanks for your help - I didn't think spring break started as early as this, so was surprised to see the rates.
the flights are not changeable so our dates our fixed. I am leaning towards the Comfort Inn at LBV but it's not a changeable deal, so am a little nervous of booking incase something better comes along (always a worry when choosing a hotel, I guess the trick is to stop looking once you;ve booked!)

look here

www.hotelkingdom.com
www.hotelmartusa.com
www.expedia.com

most of the places are sold out already. the others are more expensive.

you will feel better and better about your rate.

the only thing that might be better is not a hotel but timeshares
www.skyauction.com
the problem is the best ones only come up with less than 30 days to go

much too late for a spring break week.

On the cheaper end of things we found the LBV Comfort Inn to be quite nice.. One hotel I would *Avoid* is the Courtyard Marriot LBC (palm parkway). We requested a king bed room, got 2 doubles, we purchased through a travel agent and had a voucher. We gave them the voucher and they charged us the amount on our credit card 2 weeks after we got home.. Also with AAA you can get a hotel room at the Disney "value" resorts for 65-70 based on availability, and I dont think you can beat the Disney stuff..

Thanks

It think for our time period the values are quite a bit more than that, or we would definitely go that route.

spiceycat, I noticed there was not much on those sites, that was what prompted my initial post, I wasn't sure if I was too early for rooms to be appearing on those sites yet, but it sounds like in fact I am too late.

We stayed here in October for $49 a night plus got Sunday night free. I don't know if they still have that promotion or not, but I found it on their website before we went in October. I've stayed there before and it's not fancy, but it's clean and safe. The beds are great, too.

the Doubletree is coming up at $153/night - it amazes me the different rates that are out there.

Does anyone know the Radisson Worldgate Resort, Kissimmee? I can get a good rate ($61) for that through a UK travel agent, but I am not sure on the cancellation policy.

most people who know they want spring break make the reservation as soon as they definitely know when spring break will be.

some places only allow you to make reservations 6 months before - but for spring break they allow earlier booking.

remember the parks will be more crowded than you are probably use too.

go in the early morning when it too crowded return to your hotel - swimming, shopping or naps. then in the late afternoon go back. the parks are opened later for the spring break crowds.

Are you sure that's the Doubletree CLUB? There is also the Doubletree suites which is on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. The Doubletree CLUB is on Highway 535 (Apopka Vineland). It's the Doubletree CLUB where I usually get good rates.

Do a search on this board. I think I just saw a really bad review for Radisson Worldgate. Ofcourse, it is just someone's opinion.

Now, the Radisson Resort Parkway (orlando maingate) gets totally different reviews. No breakfast though........but it does have Starbucks coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts. :teeth: Kid also eat free at the restaurant there.

Hotelkingdom is still showing availability for Cypress Pointe for the 2 bedroom at $93. This is a good price for a 2 br 2 bath suite. Cypress Pointe has many positive reviews here if you were going to spend that much money.

Oh I just read your post more thoroughly and see that you DON'T want a condo type place. My bad.

try looking at the Orlando Magic Card site--they offer discounts on hotels.
I was able to book a room (for Jan), totally cancellable, at the Best Western Lakeside for 49/night.
I am still looking at others since this is a win/win situation--anyone have other suggestions or experience with this hotel?
