Recommendations for extended stay hotel?

Hi, I'm thinking of staying for a couple of months at an extended stay hotel. Would like to be within 20 minutes or less, from the nearest edge of WDW. Looking for a nice, clean place, in a decent neighborhood, that includes breakfast, fitness center, and business center.

So far, when I've looked at hotel websites, they just show a nightly rate, which can add up fast if staying for two months. Would like to get a monthly rate.

When you don't have an employer who is paying for it, how do you find a monthly rate, and/or a good discount, at an extended stay hotel? Are there any specific properties that you'd recommend?

Complimentary hot breakfast buffet every morning, 3 nights/WK dinner & managers reception. Full kitchen with oven in your room for meals.

I didn't use fitness or business while there, but every SBS I've ever stayed at has both.

They are starting $10/night parking on 1/1/2020 so be sure to negotiate & consider that in the rate they give you.

I would rent a condo or house. Much more space, less noise, full kitchen, likely cheaper as well.

Thanks, I'd thought about that, but I was concerned that if the place is not very clean and in good condition when I arrive, there wouldn't be much I could do about that.

We have rented homes in the Disney area many, many times over the past 30 years. We do it at least once a year. Never, not once, have we arrived to find a place dirty or in poor condition. We do occasionally encounter some sort of maintenance issue and have always just contacted either the property manager or the owner and it was corrected within 24 hours.

I don't have details offhand but I know there are places that specialize in short-term rentals of furnished apartments. You might want to contact a local realtor if you're interested in that option. Eric Gross, the realtor who works with the DIS, would be a good person to start with. Otherwise, I agree with renting a place. We use VRBO or the owner's site for the development. We generally stay in Windsor Palms so I use their site. You will have free parking. There is a business center in the clubhouse and some individual homes have a computer set up. You won't get a "free" breakfast but you'll also spend a lot less than you would to stay at a hotel. Personally, I would not want to live in a hotel for 2 months. I'd want something roomier and homier than that.

If you do go the hotel route, be sure to sign up for the rewards club and get their credit card because you will rack up a ton of points. You may even be able to work out a way with them to use points for part of your stay to defray the cost.

Since you are staying so long, try contacting a few real estate agents in Celebration. I heard they have a 30 day minimum to rent units, including the apartments over a garage. Also try contacting agents that help find lodging for business people on extended stays. Try searching for "short term furnished rentals". I found a few for around $1500/month in Celebration, which is way better than paying by the night. There is always some risk involved with rentals. You never really know what you are going to get until you arrive. VRBO and AIRBNB fees would be too high in my opinion so I would avoid these sites.

Do a search for "corporate housing" in Celebration Florida. I saw that rates start at $650/month!!! My guess is there is a difference between in season and off season like anywhere else. Make sure to check references on whatever firm you use.

Offers extended visits. I think this location also has a few owners that legally were able to keep their investment ( maybe it was a timeshare?...) so you might find an owner that rents. I drive past on way to the Publix grocery and looks very nice.
As for short term rentals in Celebration , I don’t think the owners are supposed to but the units all around me have constant short term friends visiting using a lock box on door ... I live in Celebration Siena Park and feels like I live across the street from Disney.
Rumor has it that an short term hotel will be built but the ground is just being cleared so long wait for that. Nobody knows what chain....

would you consider staying at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds and renting a small camper? I think Disney does have some guests staying longer term.
Do you plan to drive? I just saw an advertisement for a tent that connects to the back of the car. Guess I am trying to think outside the box. Is this for a family or just you?

It's just me. Even for one person, I think a small camper for that length of time would be cramped. I plan to rent a car.

We’ve stayed there in the past as well. Not fancy - but loved the in unit kitchen, their outdoor grills, & the pool was always very clean & warm
Their simple grab and go breakfast was enough to start the day.

It looks like these tend to be owner-occupied in winter, and available to rent in summer. I need something for winter, oh well, thanks anyway.
