Recommendations for Character Dining????

When we were planning our August trip, I asked my DGD4 where she would like to eat on the trip. She said with no hesitation, "I want to eat with Lilo and Stitch, and with JoJo and Goliath."

Lilo is at breakfast at O'Hana's, and JoJo is at Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. What we usually do is go to DHS for ropedrop, ride TSM, get a fastpass for later, and then have a nice breakfast at Hollywood and Vine.

For princesses we loved the Akerhus at Norway. We are trying Cinderellas Royal Table our next trip.
For Mickey and friends are faves are Cape May Cafe at Beach Club -breakfast (no Mickey), Garden Grill at Epcot - dinner and Tusker House at Animal Kingdom - breakfast.

We eat character breakfast most mornings and for us Tusker House, CRT, O'hana, and 1900 breakfasts (in that order) are a must and if we don't get CRT we do Norway. Chef Mickey's is a back up as well.

They only non-breahfast we do is Garden Grill - Lunch or Dinner it don't really matter.

We did Chef Mickey's for dinner and although the food was just ok, the character interaction was great! We also did Akershus and CRT and they were both really good but nothing beats the atmosphere in the castle. I consider it a must do at least once in your lifetime especially if you have a girl. We also LOVED Ohana's. The food and characters were equally good and there is a little parade around the restaurant that the kids can participate in with little instruments. We did a bunch of character meals last time but we are going to try different ones this time. Hoping to get 1900 but not sure which meal we want as they have different characters. Cape May is sounding interesting. I wish Liberty Tavern still had characters. :sad2:

Good advice so far, and a lot of the same advice I received.

FWIW, we'll be trying Akershus (b'fast) and Garden Grill (dinner) for the first time in September ourselves.

... I wish Liberty Tavern still had characters. :sad2:

Me, too! (I haven't passed up an opportunity to gripe aboutthat since I joined here, so why ruin a perfect record now? ;))

Dinner with Goofy and friends at LTT was my personal favorite... until they dumped it, of course.

In fact, that was my son's very first meal at WDW ever...
