Recommendations for a Time Share near WDW?

We own in Vacation Villas at Fantasy World (at the corner of 535 and 192 :) ) and usually go every other year... we went in 2013 so we banked our week for this year. But, now we've decided to head to WDW in November!

Since we banked, we can't go to our home base, so we're looking for a place listed with Interval that we can switch into. We're also looking at possibly staying on-property (for the first time since 1979 when I was 7!), but economically a time share is a better deal for us. It's just so hard to tell from the Interval listings, I was hoping to get some real live feedback!

Thanks so much in advance!!!

in particular, there is a lot of great info and pics for the sheraton vistana resort (also for the vistana villages a little farther away).

i have stayed at the sheraton vistana resort (lakes section) twice and really enjoyed it. you generally can't go wrong with a marriott either (i've only tried the harbour lake location - well, i've tried royal palms also but right before they refurbed it...in other words, the one time you can go wrong with a marriott...). for nonbranded resorts, i have heard good things about cypress pointe:

you may want to join TUG, which has reviews of different timeshare resorts (membership is $15 to read the review section but you can read and search the forum threads for free):

Another vote for the Sheraton Vistana Resort. The resort is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious, well-equipped and modern, and the location is prime. We loved it so much, we bought two weeks there :) .

I would definitely follow the PP's advice and stick with one of the major players....Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott, etc.

My parents have Interval and I frequently book their Getaways. Usually I get a Marriott (Harbour Lake, Cypress Harbour and Grande Vista). I usually get them for under $500 for a 2 bedroom/week stay. There are some no-so-great ones to watch out for (Blue Tree Resort LBV, Legacy Vacation Club LBV to name two. The pools are lame and the units outdated/small/need maintenance). I also really liked Mystic Dunes but we somehow ended up with a lock off that time and my then-10 year old has his own unit for the most part.

Whenever I am going to book through Interval I pop over to Trip Advisor and read the reviews of the resort before I even think about booking. Sometimes if its a last-minute trip your choices are not so great tho!

Thank you so much!

Wow, I remember when they were building Vistana! (My parents first bought a VVFW in 1991 when I was in college-holy crap I feel old! LOL)

Thanks for the links also, that's a huge help!

Reviving a slightly older thread. OP, we have a split stay coming up in January. Part AKL, part VV@FantasyWorld. Have you been to VV since the renovations? Are you pleased with it?

We traded my parents' timeshare week in New Orleans for Orlando and had to list 3-4 choices for resorts. We got VV but we paid for the option to switch up to 3 times. After reading VV reviews, I wonder is we should try to switch. Maybe someone has helpful feedback on VV at FantasyWorld outside of the tripadvisor reviews?
