Less than 1 month after returning from a trip to the World, I am beginning to plan a return for my bday in Feb (good idea Disney)! It's going to be a Mother Daughter trip for my Mom & I, just like the trips of my childhood!

What restaurant would you recommend for a special birthday dinner? CRT (I checked and am able to get a ressie)? California Grill? Other suggestions?

TIA!

If you think your daughter is up for it I think it'd be really neat to dress up and have dinner at California Grill. See if you can get a reservation for just before the fireworks. Even if you have an early dinner with the Magic Kingdom view, walk down and watch the fireworks from Main St.

Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge is really wonderful. THey have a good variety of well prepared dishes and the restaurant has a very nice ambiance. It's not as casual as typical Disney dining. It's a special treat for us to dine there.

Have a great time!

Yeah, I second this one. Great venue for a mother-daughter.

Enjoy!

:yay:

Ah! I will edit to add that I'm the daughter! Sorry I didn't make that clear in previous post. But I think my Mom & I would love to view the fireworks from CG! I did that with Hubby from Narcossee just last month.
I've never done CRT so I'm not sure if that would be a more unique experience for us. The characters aren't the draw for us but dinner in the castle might be.

If I were taking my mom, I would do the Afternoon Tea at GF.

Oh! Afternoon Tea! I hadn't thought of that! That's an neat idea.

Well, after looking through menus I've ruled out CRT. I think I'd rather have a great meal than eat in the castle.

If it was just mom and me for a special dinner she'd want to go to O'Hana and do the hula. What do you expect, she's an elementary school teacher. :rotfl:
