Recommendations? First day, kid friendly, non park meal

Yes, I do have another great idea...take the bus to Downtown Disney and eat at the Earl of Sandwich. They are CS.

I agree with DTD and CS there. Its a nice way to start things off but isn't high pressured. It also gives you some time at the beginning to peruse the shops before hitting the parks so you won't be tempted by the shopping bug while in the parks.

If you really don't want to do that my vote would go to 'Ohanas. It's a great place for kids and the food is good too.

Regardless of what you decide to do I'm sure it'll be great.

I forgot about Downtown Disney. Do you live near a Rainforest Cafe??? If not, that might be a nice option. Or, one of our favorites, no entertainment, but do they watch the Food Network and know Wolfgang Puck Cafe??? Even if they don't, it's brightly decorated and the pizza's are delicious for them and the entrees are equally as good. I don't know if it's on the plan as I don't use that, but I don't think the prices are bad in the cafe.

There is a candy shop right across the street, a little towards DisneyQuest and they have the most delicious chocolate covered strawberries for a light dessert. Although Wolfgang Puck has some awesome things to try also.

IF you are using the DDp I suggest Whispering Canyon. Uptight DH here loved it! He is not thrilled with the quality of food at the character meals. I think its a great way to get the fun started myself!

If you are not on the dining plan and want something different, the Rainforest Cafe, DH and DS love it!

The upside to WC is the children taking the pledge, you can always remind them jokingly aobut heir pledges if they have an off moment!

Happy PLanning and have a great trip!

Ooooooh, I forgot about Earl of Sandwich--it is on my mental list of CS places to try this trip. That would be a good time to give it a try. Since we may head to DTD for some early shopping and looking around it would be a good time.

Putting that on my list of first night possibilities. . .

THANKS!
