DH and I have decided to book a somewhat last minute trip to WDW, for Jan 31 to Feb 8. We'll be bringing along DD, age 3 1/2. We've previously stayed at Terra Verde, and I've heard good things about Windsor Hills. Other than that, I don't know much about the various condos/town houses.

What other places should I look at other than the 2 mentioned above? I'm hoping to find something around $100-$120 per night. We'll be spending most of our time in the parks, so having a ton of amenities at a resort isn't really a necessity. I can do either 2 BR or 3 BR (3 BR is preferred, since DH snores like a sick cow.)

Recommendations please? :)

Jennifer at Mickeyscondo.com has 3 bedroom condos for less than $100. We aren't going until December 2014, but she has been very friendly and helpful.

Since this is a last minute trip, you should have NO problem finding a place for less than $100 per night. I would just start with VRBO and look in the area for houses/condos that you like and contact the owners. You are sure to get a good deal.

Here is a map of rental communities: http://www.ipgflorida.com/rentalsbycommunity/communitymap.aspx

If you get on Vacation Central Florida's email list (http://www.vacationcentralflorida.com/) you may be able to score a WH condo for $299-$399 for the week of 2/1-2/8. We stayed in a 2BR in August and it was $412 for the week including taxes and cleaning fees.

We also stayed in a 4-bedroom house in Rolling Hills at Formosa Gardens which was near WH. Frankly, we enjoyed our private pool a lot more than the pool at WH. The drive was just a little bit farther than the drive from WH.

We stayed at Emerald Island in December. good location, quiet, guard at gate but easy and quick to get through each night.

Windsor Hills and Emerald Island will be a bit more expensive as they have excellent resort facilities and are very close to Disney. You could try slightly further out if you want to save some money. Highlands Reserve will get you a large villa with private pool. Regal Palms you could check out, its townhomes only and comes with an excellent resort pool area. You'll find a good selection of owner rentals on HighlandsReservePrivateRentals .com and RegalPalmsPrivateRentals .com

We got a 2BR on Hotwire for around $100 per night. Can't remember the name of the hotel, but its a good choice for you if you're on a budget. If you want to see what hotel you might get, check out www.hoteldealsrevealed.com before booking.

Also, have you tried TravelPony? You can get some good rates there.

Have fun. Sorry about the snoring :-)

We're off site in February and have booked a TH at Terra Verde. Hoping you had a good experience there and just looking to try something new (I like to do that , too!). If you have a chance to post your experience at Terra Verde I would appreciate it! :) Last year we stayed at Mike Ditka's Runaway Beach Club and found it to be ok, but a lot of what seemed to be year round residents that kind of sucked the "vacation feel" out of our stay.
Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at a terra verde townhouse back in January 09, so my memory is a bit foggy. :). I can't remember the owner we used, but the townhouse was great. Very quiet and clean. The whole complex was nice. It was record setting low temps while we were there, so we never tried out the resort pool or even the club house. Our hot tub was nice though. I recall the townhouse as being quite large, but there were only me, DH, and teenage DS staying. All 3 bedrooms were on the 2nd floor, instead of being split like Windsor Hills town homes. Depending on the ages of your kids, that's either a good thing or bad thing. I tried to get a place there for our upcoming trip, but I couldn't find anything in my price range at this short of a notice.

I just booked a 3 br condo at Windsor Hills for an awesome price. It doesn't have the Disney theming in the twin BR like I would have preferred for DD3, but given the price, that's okay.

I can vouch for her as well. We stayed in her Mickey's Hideaway unit last year and found it clean, comfortable, and not lacking for amenities -- good pots and pans, a large variety of kitchen accessories, extra sets of sheets, etc. Highly recommend!
