So, I am looking for feedback on what a good choice for a restaurant would be for a 10th anniversary dinner. DH and I plan on letting our DD's stay at the childcare center at the Poly where we are staying. I am looking for a restaurant, preferably at a monorail resort, that would have a MK view and has the music from Wishes piped in. Would like a good photo op for us and the fireworks if possible. Does this exist? And, FWIW, I am sure DH would appreciate a good steak. :)

Sounds like you are looking at California Grill at the Contemporary. However, you cannot be assured of getting a window table.

My husband and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary @ Cali Grill. The had special confetti on the table, complementary champagne and a really nice happy anniversary chocolate on our table. They do pipe in wishes, however its a bigger restaurant and anyone that has eaten there that night can come back up to watch wishes so it can get kind of crowded. My second choice is Narcoossee's, although its more of a seafood place, they have steak and chicken dishes. They play wishes, this is one of my favorite places to do so. Its a much smaller restaurant, so its just seems more intimate to me. Just ask for a table near the windows. Happy anniversary!

We are celebrating our 10th anniv at Narcoossee's. We have been told to do Cali Grill but have gotten good reviews there also.

I say CG or Narcossee since they are both just a monorail ride away! We did Narcossee last yr and LOVED the service and watching the fireworks from the deck.. Restaurant had a nice low lighting ambiance.. It was a little loud, I think b/c of the ceiling but we really enjoyed it.

CG has amazing food and views! Plus you can go out on the deck to watch fireworks!

Another suggestion..Citricos.. Havent been there but here its great!

Of the upscale restaurants on the monorail, nothing compares to V&A for food quality, service and pampering. However, there is no view. There is a harpist who plays and it's very romantic. V&A also has an upgrade for wagyu beef that is the single best piece of meat I have eaten anywhere in the world.

Of the others, Citricos is the most adult and quiet and also has the best food and service of the Disney signatures on the monorail loop. Again, no views. People go here for the food. If watching fireworks is important, you can schedule your meal so that you can walk down to the Narcoosees dock afterwards and watch there with the Narcoosees diners.

The other two have the views but are noisy, especially if you want to dine during the prime fireworks viewing time. Neither restaurant will guarantee you a view and chances are you will have to go outside to watch (dock at Narcoosees or viewing platform at Ca Grill). Of these two, I prefer Ca Grill over Narcoosees by a long shot but neither would be my choice for a quiet romantic dinner. Neither one of them have a "wow" steak dish IMO. If you want great steak, I would suggest you go to Shulas at the Dolphin. That's the best steak on property.

Since you prefer to be on the monorail line and want to experience Wishes, I would pick either California Grill at Contemporary or Narcoossee's at GF. We love both places. For a better steak you would be better off at CF. I love Narcoossee's but for the whole lobster.

My two favorite signatures in WDW on the dining plan are Flying Fish Cafe and Narcoossee's.

Last trip my wife and I had our "date night" at Cali Grill and it was phenomenal!

Our reservation was for right as wishes started so we got there a little early and went up, got a drink from the bar, got our table, but then went right out to the pavilion with our drinks to watch wishes, which was really amazing.

after the fireworks the families/kids really seemed to ease out so it was actually relatively quiet for our actual meal

Also, the back pavilion was much less crowded than the front one.

10 year anniversary dinner without the kids......:worship:

We are celebrating our 10 year when we go in Oct. DD2 will only be 2 so we can't do neverland club. Was joking with DW the other night that our romantic 10 year anniversary dinner will not only include the kids, but characters as well! My how things have changed! :rotfl:

If staying on the monorail, I would suggest Cali Grill or Narcoossee's. Been to Narcoossee's with the kids. Was nice and would have REALLY enjoyed it without a sleeping child on my lap the whole dinner. ;) Definitely a nice restaurant. food was good and GF is awesome.

We ate at CG the night we got engaged. It is our favorite restaurant. Food is great, and the views are the best in disney. It is noisy but still one of the best on property.

Enjoy the dinner and happy anniversary!

Thanks for the replies!!! I think I'm leaning towards California Grill. DH liked the menu the best. Narcoossee's looked good, but we are New Englanders...we bleed seafood!! :lmao: I have such a hard time paying 4x the amount for lobster that we would pay here. :scared1: Now I'm hoping I can somehow rangle a good view!:worship:
