I received an iPod Touch yesterday as part of a late Christmas bonus for my job. I already have an iPod that use for my music. I'm thinking about using the iPod Touch as more an extra computer. Recommend me any apps or games that you use.

I have some of the free food ones (AllRecipes, Epicurious and BigOven, I think), as well as a 101 Classic Novels and Shakespeare apps. (I figure it gives me something to read if I get stuck somewhere.) I have some astronomy ones, and a couple games, but aside from Tower Madness, I mainly use it to read books, surf, and send email.

I do plan on getting a bunch of the Disney aps before our next trip, however.

I'm a nerd, but I really like the checkbook app. Makes my life so much easier!

the Kindle app. I was so torn on getting a kindle or an ipod touch. After I finally decided on the touch I realized there was a free kindle app. So nice! there are some free books out there or you can buy books. I also got an accuweather app.

Definitely Pandora radio.

Some fun games: Chuck the Ball, It's Trivial, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Labyrinth, Pocket God, iBowl, MazeFinger, Monkey Ball, TanZen, Tap Tap Revenge, Topple, Fling, Skee-Ball, and my absolute favorite that I can play ALL day is Plants vs. Zombies.

Other good apps: The Dis' very own eTicket, Urbanspoon, AllRecipes, Grocery IQ, Crock Pot, IMDb, Kindle, B&N eReader, and Google Earth

I have an iPhone, but here are some of the apps I love (I'll try to remember to cull any that rely on GPS; apologies in advance if I forget (it's early and I'm sleepy. Lol.))...

Toy Story Mania - pretty obvious what this one is. SUPER-addictive and very fun. Many components are identical to the ride and/or the Wii version of the game. LOVE IT.

For shopping, I like the Amazon app, as well as eBay and Best Buy.

VH1's I Love the '80s app is fun for trivia and is free (and then subsequent question packs are like $ .99, I believe.)

Pizza Hut has an app and if you use it to order, you save 20%.

Shazam is great for IDing music on the go.

I received my DH's iPod Touch yesterday too. Its my very first iPod ever. :goodvibes

So far I downloaded:
Homeroutines
Google Earth
Geocaching app

Oh, and I needed to download a newer OS for it too.

I have an iPhone and I'm a APPAHOLIC! I love RunPee! It's 1.99, but it's the best 1.99 I've ever spent. It tells you when to go to the bathroom during movies. Basically, just choose the movie you are headed to see and click a button and the little timer will tell you when you can leave. It even tells you what you missed!

Love my Kindle app, too. I have a Kindle, but I don't always have it with me. It interacts with your Kindle, so you can pick up where you last left off, no matter which one you are using!

I very much enjoy skee-ball. I like iheartradio.

The Apple Texas Hold'em app is also very good if you're into poker. I have a couple of blackjack apps, video poker apps, and a paigow poker app. . .

The opentable app is also helpful.

Classics, Flight Control (so fun!), Pocket God (as a pp mentioned), Distant Shore (message in a bottle game), Colorsplash, Spider, Myst, Spores Origin.

Thanks for posting this...I'm fairly new (about 5 weeks) to iphone, so I'm still amazed at what you can find.
I have a crockpot app, toy story mania, a couple toddler games. eticket from dis...and now the checkbook one!

Let me know how you like it! I enter receipts immediately now and I rec my checkbook almost every day. So much easier than before and I know exactly how much money I have! Love it :thumbsup2

Another one I really like is the coupon clipper app. You can redeem the coupons straight from your phone. I use this one a lot too!

Doodle Jump! It's a wonderful time-waster!;)

I love my Kindle app. Like the PP, I own a Kindle too, but don't always have it with me. I can read on my iPhone, and it will sync with my Kindle to keep my place. I also love the Facebook app, Direct TV, CardStar (You can program in all the store rewards cards you have into that app, and they can scan directly from it, so you don't have to worry about carrying all those cards!), WunderRadio, and of course, all the Disney apps I have found! :thumbsup2

My favorite free apps:

Papertoss
Bubblewrap
Flashlight
Waterslide
Bowling
Sleeplite (white noise)
I have a fitness one but for the life of me I can't remember the name

Bejeweled, Skee-Ball, Ambience, Words With Friends, Scrabble, Facebook, Tweetie, The Weather Channel, Jeopardy, Doom, Wolfenstein...

Trillian, for all your instant messaging needs!
