Recommend Light-weight stroller

We have a maclaren triumph which we LOVE except when we're at WDW, I'm carrying a backpack. The triumph has no spot to leave it (and it doesn't recline) so we've always brought our big ole Graco quattro. For next month's trip, we picked up a graco literider (which I think is similar to the metrolite) from amazon for $60- and free shipping! It's light, it reclines all the way, it has a nice basket for my backpack too! And a shade! We're hoping it becomes our official WDW stroller until our DS grows out of it at 40 lbs!

That reminds me, if you don't have one, get a Graco rain cover, around $15. at BRU. It nicely covers EVERYTHING on the P3, including the diaper bag hanging on the back. It also worked well as a wind shield on a couple of cold breezy mornings we had at WDW. The one I have is the "premium shield" and includes a carry bag that made everything fit easily in the bottom of the stroller.

MaClaren.

I wouldn't worry about looks form other folks so much...but I personally wouldn't wnat to carry somethign huge around all day or on the bus. The Maclarens fold nicely, and they do (or at lest the ones I've seen ) have a basket underneath that is quite reasonable.

My vote goes to the MacClaren. Any of the models are great. We just bought the Volo at the beginning of this year to use at WDW this past April. The stroller only weighs 11lbs and it folds and unfolds like a breeze, great for Disney Transportaion if you are going to use that. My only warning is because they are so light weight don't hang too much on the handles when you take the child out of it it will tip backwards

FYI - according to their websites, the Metrolite and the Pliko weigh the same so if weight is an issue, you may want to look at something else. We used our Pliko and loved it.

Which ever stroller you get, I HIGHLY recommend the Rayshade sunshade. It was the best thing we brought on our trip. We used it outside to keep the sun off DD and inside when she wanted to nap. I cannot say enough good things about it. I hated seeing all of those poor little ones with the hot sun blasting down on them because the canopy on their stroller was so small.

That I already have! LOL Got that before our last trip and I agree it was fantastic!

I have the Mac Quest and Volo. LOVE THEM. Our Volo doesnt recline, but the Quest does. It is so easy to push, lightweight (although not as light as the Volo) and the handles are very tall for DH. It is easy to get on and off the busses. The basket isnt huge, but we just hang the backpack off the back and remember to lift it off before taking out our DD.

I love my Maclaren Triumph. It was great for DS in the parks at 13 months, and so easy. My MIL uses the Jeep stroller mentioned here for DS - she can't figure out how to use the Maclaren :-(, so for my trip in Oct., we took the Jeep. I hated it. Not as easy to collapse, not as easy to carry, not as comfortable for DS - he easily naps with the recline in the Maclaren, but does not in the Jeep. The shade on the Jeep is worthless, and the Jeep is already tearing - I only bought it in Feb, and DS only weighs 23 lbs!!!

Oh well, I just love my Maclaren, and was very sad to have anything else at WDW.

Does anyone have any experience with the Combi Urban stroller? We are considering it because the reviews I've read say that it has longer handles for taller parents. Anyone know any other brands good for taller parents with longer strides? I hate kicking the wheels when I walk, which seems to happen frequently with lightweight strollers.

Thanks!

I bought the MacLaren (sp?) last year before our trip... I looked around and ended up with the mesh seated one, better for those daily fast approaching rain storms. It has a big sunshade, nice sized basket, folds up like an umbrella stroller (with shoulder strap and only weighs 11 lbs), and will hold DD until she's 50 pounds. Now I'm hoping that she will still fit in it next summer when we go back -- and will ride in it instead of "I can walk because I'm a big girl". It will go with us anyways as long as she fits because Mom knows best!
Good luck on your choice... and just glare back at those people giving you the look, they have either forgotten how heavy a tired child can be or never had to deal in the first place. Those of us that have been there will just be jealous that no one will push us tired parents around!!

I would stay away from the combi I am 5'3" and kicked the back of the one I had all the time. I have a Mac techno and I would go w/ any mac any day over a combi in a heartbeat. combi's are harder to push once the child reaches about 3.
