Hi everyone! We have a 1 year old and currently use our Peg Perego Pliko P3 as our stroller. We MUST take a stroller when we got to Disney next month because he is not yet walking and he is pretty heavy and neither of us want to carry him from the bus stop to our hotel. Last time when we too the Pliko even though I was able to fold it for the bus trip to our hotel it just wasn't as compact as I'd like it to be.

I'd like a light-weight stroller that does have a canopy and does offer some kind of recline so that he could nap in the stroller while we are at the parks. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have 2 that I can highly recommend (we've used them both there!!)

1. The JEEP Wrangler all weather stroller - actually, we used the double version of this, but there is a single available. Very inexpensive ($39.95 for the single) and has been wonderful. We bought this for my 2 1/2 & almost 1 year old for our trip in 2005 thinking that if it just got us through the trip it would be worth thee investment. We actually used it for 3 trips to Disney and weekly visits to our zoo for 2 summers and it is still going strong! It doesn't recline, but the seat is at an angle that my kids napped in it without any problem.

2. The Chicco Capri ($69) - is what we are using now for our 9 month old. It folds easily and is very lightweight (8 pounds) and comes with a storage bag that the entire stroller slides in to for traveling. The seat reclines using zippers on both sides which makes it very easy. Nice canopy and storage underneath. The only problem I see with this stroller iis if anyone pushing it is taller then about 6 feet -- the handles might be a bit short.

Have a great trip!

I just bought the Evenflo XSport stroller. It was about $40.00 at Walmart. We used it last week in the parks! It was awesome! It had the sunshade to keep my daughter out of the sun (or dry in the rain). It folded up easily and was very light. It also has longer handles, my husband was thankful that he didn't have to lean over to push her all week. It also has cup holders and a basket underneath. It manuevered well around the parks and was easy to push. I feel like we got a great stroller for a very reasonable price.

I don't know about the Chicco but the Jeep only holds to 35lbs (and has no storage I don't think) and the Evenflo Xport to 40lbs. You might want to consider a stroller that will hold to a higher weight if your budget will allow it, giving you much more use out of it.

I love the Maclaren Volo, but it doesn't recline. The Maclaren Triumph is also lightweight, has a large basket underneath, holds up to 55lbs. You can usually get the best deal at ebay (on a brand new one) for about $100. The Volo has a carry strap attached making it easy to fold and sling over your shoulder. I think the Triumph does also but check me on that, not absolutely positive.

Are you sure you don't want to take the P3? It's my favorite stroller for the parks, I used it at WDW 3 times this year including last week with my 13 month old. Although it is a tad heavier and bulkier than a Mac when folded up, to me the benefits outweigh the small negative. It has the very large sunshade (larger than most), it doesn't tip over when you hang a heavy diaper bag on it (with a 1 year old you need to carry a lot of stuff around and I noticed several lighter weight strollers tipping over last week), and most important of all, it has that magnificent snack tray built in (which kept my 13 month old happy with goldfish and cheerios all week long). Plus it reclines almost flat for naps. JMHO

I like the avalon deluxe umbrella stroller. It has a canapy, small item bag and reclines. I got mine for $30. http://avalonprod.com/products.php?prod_id=71
ours is black and gray so they do have other colors. Quite a few baby/toddlers I know have this the great thing about it is the leg hight it taller then most stroller so a kid can use it even at 6( my ds 6 sat in it yesterday!), It reclines to where you need it to (knobes adjust it to any angle!) all the way back if you need it recined.I've used it for newborns! and it's a safe high quility umberlla stroller made to last a few years.

I love my Graco IPO. It reclines, has a basket and a canopy, folds up like an umbrella stroller, has a carry handle, and holds children up to 50lbs :thumbsup2

I love my Maclaren stroller. They are super light and easy to fold up and carry. They are a little expensive: I think I paid $65 for mine on ebay.

My Peg Perego P3 is my all-time favorite park stroller. Great recline, adjustable legrest, big canopy, easy to push, snack tray, reasonably compact fold. My youngest is 2.5yo but we still took the P3 this month and didn't regret it for a moment. Are you sure that the P3 won't work for you this trip?

I couldn't agree more. Our P3 is our favorite WDW stroller.

I just bought a Maclaren Quest and I love it. I'm chuckling to myself because I have been all over these boards for the past 7 months researching and asking questions about strollers for our trip in a week...lol...I have stated in a number of threads...my decision on this stroller and that stroller...well ignore them all...I just bought the Maclaren Quest and love it!!! All those Maclaren lovers out there knew what they were talking about!!! LOL...I'm sure the others are great too...just stating how happy I am with mine!!! Daughter loves it too....it sat in our family room for the first couple days and she would crawl in it to watch televsion...too cute!!! ALSO...she never fell asleep in a stroller before...which had me worried for our days in the park...well went for a walk one afternoon...and out like a light!!! Great recline!!! Good Luck and hope this helps a little!

Our P3 will work just fine but I just remember it being bulky when we were riding the bus. I got evil looks from people because god forbid I bring my son's big stroller on board. Granted I was kind enough to jam it as close to me so that it was never in anyone's way but I still feel like I got evil looks from everyone.

It has that great umbrella fold. Maybe people were just cranky at the end of the day. We had no problems taking it on the tram or on the Backlot ride. We don't usually take the bus (we drove to the parks) but still, it's not like you have a giant stroller there...it's more compact than most.

Very true it does fold up much better than some other strollers. Maybe we'll attempt to drive to the park one day to see if that's any better than the bus. That alone would save us money from having to get a new stroller. :yay:

is my recommendation. It has a better cover than any of the other strollers mentioned, full recline, one hand easy fast fold, lightweight compact, one hand push and hold up to 50 pounds. I don't know how much you are looking to spend but the do have some decent discounts available plus free shipping and you can also rent them from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com it 70 dollars for 4-7 nights. Have a great trip.

Can't say enough about the Graco Metrolite, we've owned two (the first one went through two kids and our poor third baby deserved something new!!), very lightweight, fold down nicely and had a nice parents tray, huge basket underneath, recline all the way for a nap at the park and has a wonderful canopy. Last year we bought the single stroller rainjacket for it and it fit nicely and went over baby and carriage no problem...it was great! In case you couldn't tell, I highly suggest it! :goodvibes
