Can someone suggest a decent camera that is small. I am not a photographer and I don't like to lug stuff around. I would like something slim that takes a decent picture. Is there such a thing?

She likes that it takes SD cards, uses AA batteries (which makes it easy to find more if you are in the parks and suddenly your battery dies), has a decent optical zoom (6x), is compact enough to carry around and easily put away to go on a ride, has a viewfinder so she doesn't have to rely on the LCD screen, and has decent megapixels (8MP).

I was looking at this one too! I just wondered if anyone on here actually has used it. I like that it has a view finder, because that is what I hate about the one I have now! I bought it a few years ago and it is really slim. I went to take some pictures at night and I couldn't see anything! Needless to say, my pictures didn't turn out very well!
I also need one that I'm able to get a picture of my son long jumping and crossing the finish line during a track meet.
I just got a sony cybershot and I really do like it alot.
I was going to do the Canon S3 but I am just starting out with digitals and I wanted something small and the S3 was just to big for me now.
So I went and looked around and actually fell in love with the camera for me to start out with.
I got it at Circuit city for 179.99 and other places were saling it for 229.99.
It is very little and I can put it in the case and just stick it in my purse and it hardly takes up any room.
I just bought a Power Shot S5Is and it's great we went to a WWE show and it took fantastic pictures. Can wait to use it at the World in a couple of months.
I just bought a Canon PowerShot Digital Elph SD 870 IS, and oooooh I love it!! Gorgeous, crisp, clear pictures- easy to use features, and the image stabilization makes SUCH a difference compared to other digitals I have used!
That's what I just bought and it arrived today. It's a bit heavier than I thought it would be but it is small enough to fit in a pocket. I've been experimenting with it and I think it'll be great. :
