Do you have one you love? I have the Master Cook software program but still like to have all my recipes on paper as well. I have looked online a little but haven't found anything I particularly loved yet. So I'm looking for suggestions from my fellow cookers on how they organize their recipes. Thanks in advance!!

oh! me too! me too! I want to take all of my mom's recipes that she has stuffed into cookbooks and binders, and make a nice recipe binder. but i want it to be special...

My mom and I have so many recipes that are clippings from so many different places that I bought a binder and took cardstock arranged the recipes nicely on them put it in a page protector and then in the binder.

I have sections for each different holiday plus cookies etc....the thing is HUGE! but I don't have those clippings anymore and I didn't have to leave the picture off of the recipe. I like having the picture.

I don't like having a book on the counter when I'm cooking - it's mainly a space issue I think. Sorting the cards was an issue I couldn't resolve in that format either. I use 3x5 cards in plastic sleeves to protect them from my sloppiness. ;)

I keep the cards in a box that was intended to be for storing negatives I believe. I just store them the opposite direction. I didn't want to put them in a plain file box.

I really like the cards/plastic sleeves. A company called 20th Century Plastics has pages for a 3-ring binder. Each holds several cards. I thought about using those, but didn't feel like pulling the cards out.

I've printed all my cards on cardstock & cut them apart with my Fiskars rotary cutter. That way I can use various fonts, add clipart and/or pix of the prepared dish. I've been very happy with the end result.

I keep all of my recipes on my hard drive in folders by type of dish. (chicken, beef, Italian, Mexican, etc) I also have a huge folder for all my Disney recipes. I have sub-folders for each resort and park.

Thanks so much for the suggestions- I'm thinking maybe I should just make my own. ::yes:: I like the idea of the plastic protectors as well as I'm a total mess in the kitchen. :teeth:

I've had several over the years. My current & most favorite for the past many years has been a photo album type.

All available at WalMart.
3 ring binder type photo album.
With plastic sleeves that had many photos per sleeve. (size up to you)

I've divided album into categories.

I can just remove the recipe clipping if I want....or keep the whole book out. It wipes up nicely.

Some recipes were printed onto cards. Some are just cut from magazines.

I had gotten my individual card protectors from Current. The last time I ordered for the cards I made for DDIL's shower gift, I had to spend quite a while searching for them online as I hadn't seen them in their catalog for some time.
