I was going to try chicken tortellini soup can I just boil the tortellini in the soup until tender or will the pasta suck up all the broth?
Do you put cream of chicken in your soup? I found a few recipes that called for broth and cream of chicken soup.

It will suck up some, and will also thicken the soup slightly due to some flour "runoff".

I cook pasta in stuff all the time. I do this with my chili, but I really like thick chili. :)

I don't think you'll have a problem. You can always add some more liquid.

When I make soup with noodles I keep noodles and soup apart until serving. I cook the noodles in their own boiling water like spaghetti and drain. Put noodles in a bowl and add soup/broth. It does not make a difference the first time around but if you want to save some soup in the fridge for the next day the noodles soak up too much soup/broth for my taste.

I put them in before serving and also keep them seperate. I really hate mushy tortellini.

I completely agree. Always keep them separate, especially with leftovers
