Recharging your batteries in the parks, literally, not figuratively

Just to add my product endorsement, I have a Zagg ZaggSparc (~$100). Basically a charger with a built-in battery (holds about 4 full charges for smart phone) and two USB ports. I used it on the bus to the Magic Kingdom when the DW's smart phone did not get recharged overnight. Almost all my gadgets recharge via USB (except camera -- I carry an extra battery for it).

Doesn't guest services still offer charging? I understood that they and the camera shops were able to charge camera batteries for guests (but I never took advantage of that) in the past.

Yes they do. You can stop in any guest services and charge your battery and come back later to pick up if you choose too.

I charged my iPhone during Turtle Talk with Crush in Epcot. I sat in the back row and plugged the phone into an outlet in the wall along the back wall way on the left side of the theater.

The show's not long enough for a full charge, but it was nice to get a bit of a bump.

I've charged my iPhone upstairs at Columbia Harbor House and at Cosmic Rays while enjoying lunch. You really have to look for the plugs but they are there!

There was an area of landscaping and benches in front of Pooh's Playful Spot that I found an outlet in the landscaping but guessing this might be gone now with all the Fantasyland changes.

My son was great about giving me some advice on how to cut back on some of the battery sucking power (and not have as many "interruptions"): Turn off the notifications. I get lots of FB, email, apps, reminding me to check my phone. Of course I enjoy using Foursquare, FB, etc., but I try to stop myself, but some of those lines just make me want to turn on my phone!

Thanks for bringing this up. I have notifications off all of the time. They really suck the battery life quickly.

Great tip! :thumbsup2

Duracell has a product that will charge your phone off regular batteries. I'm sorry I don't have a link.

Also, Ryobi tools has a small charger that runs from the tek4 batteries.

Sitting around waiting for my smartphone to charge doesn't sound like much of a vacation.

BTW:
I did find an unattended gas can in the Minnie lot once. I used it to top off the tank on my minivan. It didn't get me to full, but I felt good about the extra boost. No cast members said anything about it so I don't think Disney has/had a problem with it.
