I was talking with a friend about park ticket options. Her TA told her you can take old tickets and have them "recharged" at a discounted price??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 Anyone ever heard of this?

If you have at least one day left on ticket you can add days.I do not know if you get a discount on those added days.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Before Disney switched to the Magic Your Way (MYW) tickets a few years back, this used to be true...

According to the EVERYTHING ABOUT TICKETS sticky at the top of this forum, these old pre-MYW tickets (pre-2005) may not be 'upgraded' in the traditional way. They can be used as is or you can receive a small credit (not very much) by trading them in towards new tickets.

Also, if they have old tickets since the MYW program came into place, all upgrades had to be completed within 14 days of first use. So they can't be upgraded either.

Have a look here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

and read sections 6,7 and 8.

Hope this helps.

Recharging tickets cannot go beyond 10 days including the days already consumed. For eligible tickets that already underwent some usage (MYW tickets that are still within the first 14 days of usage), you pay the difference between the gate price of what the ticket ends up as and the gate price of the ticket as it was before. Adding the sixth to tenth days to non-nonexpiring tickets costs about two dollars a day.

You can still upgrade tickets within the aforementioned 14 day period if the tickets were completely spent.

So, if I start with a 7 day park hopper pass and on the 5th day, I want to add an 8th day to the pass, I could do this by paying an additional couple dollars (since that is the difference between the 7 and 8 day park hopper passes)? Do I have this right? :confused3

Yes, that's right. Two years ago we only had MYW passes that had 3 days on them. We ended up wanting to add another day, and it was really really cheap....so then the next day we went back to the front desk and added another day LOL, there is a chart inside your vacation package folder that has the per day cost, you may be able to find it online too under their ticket ordering system.
