DF and I thought we were all set with where we wanted to have our reception, the Atlantic Dance Hall. We loved the way it looked and the large amount of dance floor, but after speaking to Disney we found out that the reception would have to end at 8:30 on Tues-Sat I think they said.:sad1: Well we really don't want to change the date, as it's special for us, so I'm asking all you lovely people for ideas. I haven't seen many pictures of the ballrooms, are the dance floors pretty nice size? We also didn't want anything in the parks, so we could use outside photography. Any options/ideas would be a great help to us!

I'm glad someone has asked this q. I would love to see some actual wedding shots of some of the venues. We're planning a wedding for April 2010 and are looking at the Grand Flordian (maybe the Whitehall Room) or the Living Seas. Our colours for the day are champagne gold and pink so I'm leaning more towards the GF while my H2B loves the Living Seas. Any suggestions?

We'll I haven't had my wedding yet but, I have done a site tour.
Living Sea - Pro's - I love the theme, and the windows into the aquarium are amazing. It felt intimate and kinda behind the scenes. We are going to use it for the rehearsal dinner because it will be a tranquil space we can all have a moment together. Con's - the galley way lay out and I think you have to use buses.
White Hall - beautiful, I love this space so much. With the windows and open to patio, Con's hold about 6 rounds w, small dance floor So We are going to use this area as cocktail hour just like everyone else.

Ballroom - Its just the easiest and as ballrooms go its one of the best looking ones I've seen, One thing I looked at was the wall divider things, and they are nice no big black seems like I've seen at other places ( not Disney )

Well those are just my thoughts as I can remember.

How many guests do you have??

We looked at whitehall but felt that it was just too plain for our liking, it would need a lot of money spending to make it look anything special (have some photos if you want them emailing)

In the end we went for Ariel's. Totally didn't even think of it and it was a last surprise visit for us with the planner and we totally fell in love with it.

I have photos of Ariel's and WHRP if anyone wants to see them.

Thanks for the advice. We're looking at approx 40 guests at present but news hasn't travelled around the whole family yet so it may go up but I doubt it will go up much!

mel_ntu - photos would be greatly appreciated. I'll PM my email address to you. Thank u so much!

This may seem like a silly question, but how are receptions organised over in USA. Here in ROI, we generally hire a venue and are there from approx 3/4pm (whenever the ceremony ends!) until the early hours of the following morning. From posts I've read, you seem to only have a reception for a few hours or is it just Disney weddings that are like this?

Ok just realised I have to have 10 posts before I can PM someone. When I get to it I'll send you my email address!

Hi there,
To be fair, Mel-ntu would probably be accurate with the "plain" description. Because I am admittedly into plain & subtle. I always just stay to basics because I have never been that creative.
