I am planning on having a Disney Wedding in Feb. 2010...
I am only having 25 guest so I don't need anything too formal or big but I would like something nice.

I was looking into Ariel's at the Yatch Club... any ideas, pictures or advice

www.mouseweddings.com
www.tazfoto.com

Both these sites have good pictures of reception locations, and mouseweddings also tells you minimums etc. As well as Ariels there is the Whitehall Room, American Adventure Parlour and the Attic that are nice for small receptions. If you look through the TR you'll be able to see other brides pictures of the rooms.

Thank you for those sites, I just looked at Ariel's and I am not crazy about the Fish decorations. It's cute but not the look I am gloing for. I'm glad you sent me that site with pics.

I will look and see if I find something a bit more classy looking.

Thanks Again

Welome to another Feb 2010 bride! I am getting married then too! I thought about Ariels but I agree, fish aren't really me... what about CG or one of the restaurants? I have heard very good things about them all :) HTH
PS- When in Feb are you planning?

Have you checked out the Attic? Its a nice place. Not formal and just the right size for 25 people. I think it can hold 50 but its more laid back and intimate.

I believe there are pictures on that tazfoto.com site.

Yes, definately check out the Attic. It has a very cozy feel to it and the view is amazing.

I definitely agree with Toni - check out Carrie's (Lurkyloo) PJ and TR. She had her reception there and it looked awesome! :thumbsup2

FEB. 2010....I am still debating on the date. I want a Friday but it looks as if I have it on a Thursday things are a bit more cost effective?

Since I am still putting ideas together I am leaning towards 2/12/10 but I'm not sure, it might be a crazy weekend since it's Valentine's day and kids are out of school for winter break.

I'll look at the ATTIC, I have been a Disney fan forever and it's amazing when it comes to wedding planning you realize there is so much I don't know

Thanks for your help ladies...

I hear ya! Too many options, it makes your head spin sometimes:rotfl: ! I think we may be getting married the same week! I think we are leaning towards a Monday though (way more cost effective, just like a Thursday). We had the same Valentines day dilemma, just a word of advice, if you want roses for anything around Valentines day, the prices will probably be super high! I was a florist for many years and rose prices creep wayyyy up during V-week. I was fine without them, but if you have your heart set on them add a little extra to the budget so you dont get a surprise on your bill:thumbsup2 ! I cant wait to hear more of your plans:)

The options are endless. I am trying to plan it so it's easier on everyone. I wa thinking if I use the Yatch Club Gazebo and Ariel's than I wouldn't need trasportation from the ceremony to the reception, but I really hate the FISH decor. Am I being a bit "divaish".

In regards to the flowers you are a 100% right, Roses do go up in Feb. Doesn't Presidents Day land that weekend as well. I am a bit nervous about Feb. because of all the holidays.

I am currently waiting for a DVD I requested from DFTW, I know it won't show much but atleast get an idea.

Are you having an Escape or Wishes wedding?

::yes::

I am having a wishes wedding byt the way, lets keep each other posted since we are right at the same time:cheer2:

HI!!!

Hey is there a way on this site where I could track your posts... I have been a memeber of this site since 2003 but never really had a reason to post.

With so many brides and questions it took me a while to find the post.

I am still weighing out the options and diff. in the Escape & Wishes.. I don't have many people so I thought it was silly to look into the Wishes Pkg. but when I add up the Escape and extras I want it's almost as much as if I had a Wishes. Atleast I meet the req. minimum

Have you planned anything yet. I am a bit torn, mostly on the date. I looked up airfare from NJ to Orlando for Valentine's weekend this year to get a bit of an idea for next year and it's so much more money. The week before the airfare is about $100 cheaper. I really want that week, but I feel bad for the guest to pay that much.

How far are you from Orlando? Have you spoken to a Coordinator yet?

There is so much information and ideas it's a bit overwhelming...

By the way, I know I have mentioned that I hate the Fish at Ariels so I can't believe I am even saying this, but the Living Seas area in Epcot looks really neat for a reception. Someone posted pictures and it's something different.

Let me know what have you planned so far. I am glad I found someone with my same month, we could keep each other sane LOL!!!:p

Hey there fellow feb bride! Do you have a PJ yet (planning journal), thats a great way to track whats going on with our weddings, the link to mine is in my signature if you want to check it out. I really like having it, it gives you a chance to get your ideas out and get a little friendly advice from other disbrides, and everyone on here is so nice!

Don;t worry about airfare, if people want to be there they will make it work, I was nervous b/c my wedding is the day after the superbowl next year (and the bowl is in Miami) but I checked it out and it should be fine. Plus people will book so far out that rates wont be as high. I am contacting airtran b/c they have a wedding discount you and your guests could get (I think it's a code they give you for 10% off for anyone going to your wedding)

I am right outside of Boston, about a 3 hour plane ride from Orlando. I have spoken to my coordinator (Stacey Meecham) and she has been super awesome! She has really helped me with the location decisions and has sent me tons of pics! And no, you are not crazy the living seas is WAY different then Ariels! It's gorgeous there!

Let me know if you start a PJ, I will def follow along and I need all the people keeping me sane I can get LOL:rotfl2: !
