Recent Westerners- How are the water temps?

I am curious how warm the water temps were recently at GC,Coz and CC. I'm dying to get into the ocean!

Last week:

Key West - did not test

Grand Cayman - the most pleasant. Slightly cool but definitely swimmable

Cozumel - I thought a little bit cooler than GC but again doable. We did get a little chilly towards the end of the 30 minute Dolphin Encounter at Chankanab

Castaway - The coolest of them all. A little bit cold when you first got in for a snorkel, but you got used to it (at least I did). However, my 8 year old got very cold on the snorkel and after about half way we turned back so she could get out and warm up. She did not get cold snorkeling in GC or Coz.

Standing in waist deep and playing she didn't seem to have a problem though.

We are from the Phoenix Arizona area so we get cold pretty easy so it is hard for us to judge. We felt that the water was surprisingly cold at all stops, but we got in and eventually got used to it. My DS who is 10 was the worst he is very thin and has no body fat to keep him warm! His teeth were chattering at Cozumel and Castaway Cay. We were determined to have fun and once we were in we felt that the water was bearable. Just go for it!!

Sailed a week ago and all water temps are doable. I'm a wimp to cold water and I agree with Marklem. A sidenote for Castaway Cay is the water at the Family Beach is colder than the other side of the island at Serenity Bay. The beach at Serenity Bay is more shallow.
