hi, have really enjoyed reading the highs and lows of all recently returned! were going to be in dlp for 6 days from wednesday (leaving tomorrow though), just looking for opinions on those just back.. there are showers forecast but the temperatures look ok. I'v mainly packed crop pants/leggins and short sleeve t-shirts for kids...is it warm enough for this or would i be safer packing long pants, more hoodies, etc, did you all find it fairly warm or not?
thanks!

I would say that you would definately want cardigans/hoodies with you. A lot of the time during the day it was warm enough for cropped trousers and t shirts but when it was windy or actually raining it could feel a bit chilly especially after dark.

thanks for that, will add some more warmer things so! its so hard to know what to pack as bit limited with space for flying and weather forecast keeps changing! there was a few dry days promised and looked today it seems to be showers every day!! were the showers usually short or was it continuous rain any of the days?

We had a couple of days where it rained for an hour or two but that was the most we had. The weather was definately much better than I was expecting given the forecast (which sounds similar to yours). When the sun shone it was really quite warm and we did apply suncream a couple of times but when it clouded over it wasn't so warm but we were fine in t shirts with cardis over the top.

I am so pleased we had the pushchair as it was loaded with a backpack with (for all 4 of us):

Towelling hoodies/GAP hoodies (worn most of the time)

Fleece (lightweight jackets)/Fleece lined hoodies (worn on top of the above at chilly times!)

Waterproof pac a macs (worn during the rain - obv)

And believe me, I think apart from one day, I think we all wore all of them at one point or another! I thought 3 coats per person was excessive but if I had the chance again I wouldn't have missed them.

I think the thing that got us the most was when it rained (or just before) it got quite cool, not freezing but enough to have a chill, then after the rain it got really hot - sun baking for a while???! It was very odd indeed. DD1 commented that all we needed was snow and we'd have had all seasons in one day :lmao:.

I also didn't take enough cardigans as even in the restaurants I felt a little chilly at times. I am a person that does feel the cold though. I am surprised it wasn't warmer but I think that might just be me! :confused3 We had better weather on our trip end Sept/early October!

ETA - Hopefully you won't need anything like that :-)

I am glad you asked this as I was thinking it! :rotfl2:

What website do you all use to get the weather reports? I need to look up for Sunday/monday :goodvibes

I think t-shirts and leggings should do you good during the day, then just take cardis or jumpers for the evening as it can get a tad chilly.

Make sure you've all got raincoats/ponchos, too!

thanks for all the replies! finally just after finishing the packing :) added in few hoodies/fleeces for boys and hoodies/cardies and a blanket for buggy for youngest.i had already packed the rain jackets! lets hope we don't need them too much, was great to have your opinions on it... i have also been early october and needed to buy short sleeve tops as only packed warmer, looks like the opposite now:rotfl: oh well at leat we have long stay so we can plan around the rain im sure... cant wait now!

I'm :rotfl: as we got on the train at FL one day and the heavens opened. We ended up going around the whole park 3 times before we got off as it was still raining and we were nice and dry on the train - poor people at the stations we called at looked drenched though (and none too happy that not many people were getting off to make room for them!) :rotfl:.

When we finally got off again at FL we picked up our pushchairs (by this time we'd hired one for DD1 as she was suffering with all the walking & long days - and sporting a rather nasty blister!), which were literally drenched! Moral of the story, put your rain cover over your pushchair before you go off on a ride if it even remotely looks like showers!

good tip about the rain covers- thanks, wouldn't have thought of the buggy getting soaked:laughing:! reminds me- better go make sure the covers still under buggy, very rarely used now for 4 year old, but i'm sure she wont refuse going in it with all the walking for the week.. plus great for carrying jackets, bags, etc;)
