Recent POR Bus Experiences?

I've just read a couple of different posts from people who had bad bus experiences at Riverside, but they were both from several years ago. I know I've heard a lot of that before, but it seems like the more recent things I've read have been more positive.

Has this situation improved lately? I would love to hear opinions from recent POR guests, good or bad.

Thanks!

We didn't have a problem with the bus transportation in July. The longest we needed to wait was when we were leaving the parks, however a bus was always there within 15 minutes. We never waited more than 5 minutes at POR.

I think it all depends on your mindset. My husband would much rather take the bus than drive the car so he never complained about transpotation. We were never in a rush to get anywhere either.

I will say that I could never figure out the system. At times we went directly to the parks and at times we did the loop around PO.

In general I feel your experience will depend on your level of tolerance. We thought it was okay. :flower:

We stayed there in July. We only used the bus to MK and drove to the other parks. We had no trouble. It was quite a walk from our motel room to the bus stop.

I just back from a wonderful stay at POR! The bus service was great. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus. At times the buses were a little crowded and we had to stand but that did not bother us at all. The buses took different routes around the resort so it's hard to say what POR stop they use first but the ride never seemed to take too long. We are not early risers though so we usually caught the bus to the parks around 11:00 and then took the bus home at park closing. POR is an awesome resort. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Just returned from POR last Friday. I had heard such things about the bus service and it was a nice surprise. The bus service was great. We took the bus in front of the resort, the South Depot, the bus had already stopped at POFQ and this was the first of the four stops at POR. We never waited more than 10 mins for a bus and only had to stand when we returned after EMH. We were very pleased.

We never had a problem--and we were there last year, and a few years ago. 10-15 minutes was the most we waited for any bus.

I agree with Nolcrest--it depends on your attitude. Maybe 10-15 minutes is annoying to some---to our kids it was extra time to look for bugs and lizards!

We stayed at POR in July. During the day and evening, the bus service was great. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace and the East stop was practically right outside our door.

However, the bus service after Spectromagic or Wishes was horrendous. The first time we left after Wishes we did not get to our room until midnight, and we had to stand. Not easy with little kids. It made staying for Wishes or Spectromagic impossible.

I don't think anyone is complaining about 15 minutes, take it from me it can be much longer than that.

But, overall I thought POR was a great value and we still had a wonderful stay.

I agree with the last post - during busy times we found it a nightmare returning from Epcot/MK. The queues literally snaked out of site. Having said that, it seemed worse than it actually was; we waited around 30 minutes. Leaving POR for the parks rarely meant a wait longer than around ten minutes. If the POFQ queues back from MK are small, consider joining them and taking the 10-15 minute walk from FQ to POR - nice and romantic in the late evening!
