Recent OKW Trip - Things I did not Know

Hi. A recent trip to OKW was wonderful. Several "welcome homes" and a lot of waves by anyone else passing by. We also had a meal at Olivia's (breakfast) and everyone in teh group of 8 was really happy with the food and the value (especially witha 10% DVC discount!).

Since I had not been to OKW in a couple years, there were a few changes and pleasant surpises I wanted to share. Maybe everyone else already knows about them, but ehre they are just in case. One was the availability of a free refill mug. They used to have just the resort one which you then paid for refills. This one is a seasonal mug (ours said Spring Break) thus dating it and making it good only for a certain time period. It seemed the perfect way around the issue of "are mugs refillable for life", and I wondered if this is how mugs will be at all Disey Resorts. They still did offer the resort mug, refillable for $1.75 I believe. The seasonal mug was $11 or $12 I think.

A second addition was water mice. I believe I saw two docked at the marina area. While we did not have time to use them, it was nice to see that option being offered.

The Water Sprites or Mice were added when they closed down POR for renovation, the feeling was that since OKW would have pretty much the water way to themselves for awhile that it would be ok to rent them out. before that the "mice" were not allowed down the water way to POR or OKW at all, people who rented from the docks DD were only allowed to use them at the large lake area. I believe they are a little slower than the ones you can rent elsewhere. The new rule for water sprites(mice) is that you have to be 16, I don't know if you need a driver's license?

I have several seasonal mugs that were all refillable - Halloween, Valentine's Day, Xmas. I've had some for several years.

(And no, I don't bring them back down with me.)
