Crowds are a "relative thing." You can't expect to show up at Hollywood Studios at 10:30am pretty much any day and find a wait at Toy Story Mania of less than 60 minutes. FASTPASSes are also often gone by noon. That's true any day of the year.
This is from around 4pm on that Friday the 11th (when Hollywood Studios wasn't recommended).
Note that there is a "1" in front of the "40" on Toy Story Mania. The Tower of Terror time is probably inflated. 90 minutes sounds long.
Likewise Animal Kingdom on Friday the 11th (also not recommended)
That's 85 minutes at Expedition Everest and 40 minutes at DINOSAUR and Primeval Whirl.
So while Magic Kingdom may have been busier than either of us would have liked, I don't think you could make a strong argument that the other Parks were better choices.
In a similar vein, this is Epcot on Saturday (not recommended):
Around 4pm. Obviously FASTPASS at Soarin' is gone and Test Track would have also been gone had there not been the extended 10pm close.
Anyway, hope you had a fun trip nonetheless. Next time, try to hit the Studios prior to 9am and you'll be in much better shape. After you get through the three or four "biggies," wait times and crowds at the other high capacity attractions are more tolerable.
