We will be there in less than a week after almost a year of planning (we need to book flights early from Uk to get best prices!)

I wondered whether anyone had experienced any problems at check in recently if you had an hopper pass (and was upgrading to AP during stay - to get MM). I can see that the rules changed recently (as per HoJo's forums on their web-site) and would hate to have any problems at the front desk if this had not been communicated 'down the line'.

Any thoughts?

I don't have an answer for you. So I'm bumping this. :)

But it might be good to know that it's a HoJoAnaheim-specific policy, so it's not like those in charge are in a different state or anything. Everyone is right there at the hotel, and I can't imagine that the employees checking you in won't know the proper routine. And if they do, take it up the chain, because Lorealle etc need to know who hasn't been paying attention. :)

They asked me for my AP at check-in. However, if you're upgrading to an AP during the trip, they may ask for it at check-out and adjust the price then.

Yes you can adjust the price after you upgrade your PH.

It all seems too much fuss for me - we are staying 14 nights in total so won't be checking out and paying the room bill for a while. Would they also honor the 50% discount on the 4 nights we have them for - if we haven't shown our AP's upfront and they change the booking to regular rate - how would they know which rooms we got at the 50%? Those rooms aren't available with that discount now.

Pigby,

Why don't you email Lorealle at Hojos directly with your questions? That way she can reassure you and let you know exactly how it will work, plus you can print out whatever she emails to you and bring it with you, just in case.

Her email is lorealle.bishop@hojoanaheim.com.

Since it is a holiday weekend here in the States, she might not get back to you until sometime next week, but in my experience, she responds very quickly to emails.

HTH.

Can you get the rate with an entertainment card? If so I would just do that, you can get them online.

I'm going this route but my plans are for October where there are still days available. The OP is traveling in less than a week and the latest Entertainment Rate days are July 2010:: 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th, 30th, 31st.

But yeah, if anyone has advance notice, the Entertainment Rate is awesome! :)

You can but the entertainment card discount on the regular room rate is 15% and AP rate is 20% - doesn't sound much but when your stay is 14 nights I worked it out to be around $100.

amamax2 - Thanks for the e-mail to lorealle - might try that. I did join up to the HoJo forum to ask the question over there but I am still waiting to be 'approved' and activated - the7y have to send me an e-mail before I can post..

Lorealle JUST answered this very question on their forum last month. They will honor the 50% discounts (even if they are no longer listed) and adjust the remaining days to the 20% discount. As soon as you upgrade you can take the AP in and they will fix the rates for you.

Pigby - I know you and I talked about this in another thread. I am planning on doing the same thing as you. When I called to change my rate from EC to AP, I asked her if I could show my AP anytime during my stay, not just at check in now, and she said yes, that is the policy now. Whereas a couple months ago they told me no.

So I think you are good. It is not a huge resort, so I can't imagine all the employees not knowing the policy. Relax, I'm sure you will be fine. You are going to have an amazing vaction. Enjoy!! :yay:

Thank you so much everyone - I am sure I can now think of something else to stress over:rotfl:
