This past couple of weeks, experienced the following with the waitlist:
1) Had 3 waitlist requests active at the same time under one membership; my understanding is that only 2 are allowed at any one time. Had forgotten about the other 2 when I put in the 3rd. All 3 show up under "Active Waitlist Request(s)" and are still there even after a week.
2) Canceled several reservations (that had no availability) and immediately went to the RAT and saw that those rooms and dates were immediately available for general booking. Some of those reservations were for popular rooms/times, so assumed that the waitlist program was not running at the time.
3) Had 2 browser windows open and canceled a reservation and tried to immediately book it using points from a different contract/UY in the 2nd browser window, but it was gone in those couple of seconds and never showed available again. This led me to believe that all cancellations are now immediately checked against the waitlist and held if there was a match.
4) Had an active waitlist for a specific night, and last night checked the RAT to see that the room was now showing available. Checked my Upcoming Vacations and did not see a reservation for that room and night. Went to Waitlist Manager and saw that my waitlist was still showing active but never filled. Went back to the RAT to see that the room was still available, so grabbed the reservation, then went and cancelled the waitlist. This shows that not all cancellations are immediately checked against the waitlist. Or that the waitlist program needs to be actively running for the checks to occur. Or there's a bug in the program?
So inconsistent and confusing. Anyone have an explanation or other thoughts on this?
