Recent Experiences with Alamo Lines at MCO

Ok. I have to make a decision between Alamo mid size SUV for $146 which only my DH can drive or National full size for $169 which both of us can drive since we are National Club members. I really want to keep the SUV at Alamo since we have an SUV at home and its cheaper but I'm worried about the lines at Alamo. We will arrive at MCO about 7 p.m. on Saturday night. It will be just DH and me so he can go to the rental car counter while I go get our bags. I can't do online checkin because I'm using a coupon.

Anyway, just wanting to know how long have the lines been recently at Alamo and how quickly did they move especially on a Saturday evening. Thanks!

We are hoping (!!!) to avoid the long line at the airport issue by taking Magical Express to our Disney resort and then picking up the car later in the day from the WDW Car Care Center. Are you staying on-property so that that would be an option?

We arrived at MCO on 9/29 around 7pm and there was nobody on the Alamo line (A-side) at all. Literally not a soul. I was shocked. Very different than last year where the line was huge (B-Side).

I was going to say we've waited 5 minutes and we've waited 90 minutes at that counter. Unfortunately they usually have the best rates. So, we take the chance. I do know that last time we were there the lines were really long. About 20 minutes into they opened the National desk for Alamo customers and it only took another 15 minutes. It was looking like it was going to be another hour.

ccw, we thought about doing that but we're staying the first night at Pop before moving to BCV so we thought it would be too much of a hassle. If we were going directly to BCV, we probably would have waited to rent a car at the Dolphin.

kilee, I've had the same experience-either Alamo had a long line or none at all. I guess it just depends on how many arrive at the same time and rent from Alamo.

Hi just returned from MCO and rented from Alamo and had no problems or a long wait maybe 15mins if that. But there was a man coming out of line who was complaining about being ripped off. Oh well we did not have any problems. Have fun.
