We're thinking about going before Illuminations and peeked at it in January. Looked pretty good compared to what I was expecting. Thoughts/comments???

Hi Texowl2

We were there in May and ate at the Biergarten. The food is alright, not anything real special but we eat there cause, if we time it right, we get some entertainment along with out meal and Disney prices being what they may, the price for the buffet beats that of many of the set down restaurants and we can pick what we want off the buffet that fits our diets. Plus my hubby is an all you can eat type of man. LOL

The experience is greatly enhanced or not by who you share the table with. My advice is that if seated with unfriendly people offer a smile of your own and ask them how they are doing and it often improves the mood of the table. After all, if they love Disney, they cannot be all bad. LOL

Yes that can make or break your experience. In December I was there alone and they sat me next to a couple who was imho on the drought side of dry. They were obviously unhappy they sat a stranger next to them. Tried to make the best of it but ended up having to move because I couldn't stand their friendlieness any longer.
On the other hand, we had a great time last month sitting next to a fun family that made us feel like we were at Oktoberfest.:D

Lots of food. You may need carried out. If anyone likes Beer in your group, they have some new choices instead of the old Beck's Light or Dark.

Madcoco, they might have been shy or something but it is a shame that they missed out on one of the very best things about DW, meeting new people.

I have found that you can sit down on a bench and strike up a conversation with most everybody. As I have aged I have learned not to take it personally if they do not want to chat.

Maybe we can share a bench and swap some tales one day.

Honestly, when I heard we were going to be eating in Germany on our trip in May, I wasn't too thrilled. I am a VERY picky eater and I didn't feel particularly up for the German food. But, I have to admit that I LOVED eating there. The buffet had so many things to choose from and I was definitely full when I left. We were there when the band was playing, which was also fun. Because we had such a large group, we didn't share our table with anyone--at least not that I recall.
I suggest trying it out!

Agree. It is what I thought at 1st but unfortunately that wasn't the case.:(

Madcoco, hope it did not ruin your day. Bet it didn't. LOL
