Recent experience with Allegiant Air?

I'm considering flying my family home (Greensboro) on Allegiant since it's only $49 one way. The dricedown is a piece of cake, but back is not so easy. Problem is, the 8:30 flight is all they have for the day, and I would be long gone by car before the flight gets off the ground. I would hate to see the flight cancelled with me already half home with all the luggage. Having never flown Allegiant before, I was just curious what their record is as far as Orlando flight cancellations and other nightmares. Thanks!
