We recently used RAC at Kidani for our Southwest flight. Our flight was scheduled for departure at 5:15PM. While I appreciated the convienence of dropping off our luggage at the RAC and not having to lug them around I was a bit surprised at how long it took to check-in.
My husband got into line at 10:25AM to check in our three bags. He called me as soon as he got done which was 11:00AM (give or take a minute). I was surprised it took close to 35 minutes as I hadn't read it taking longer than 10-15 minutes. I initially chalked up the wait time to Southwest being recently added to RAC as AKL - however my husband said a majority of those in front of him were NOT Southwest passengers but other airlines (i.e. Airtran, American, etc.).
Once my husband got to the check-in desk the check-in person had a difficult time pulling up my son's boarding pass. I thought that was weird because he was on the same confirmation number as my daughter and I.
In the end it all worked out and I will say I did like the convienence of not lugging around luggage (although we had to subsequently check-in another bag at the airport as it was child booster seats). We will definetly use it again in the future however we will ensure to plan for 30+ minute waits, etc.
